So sad. Bo table games, very few people, just dead space with a lot of slot machines. Very boring, no buzz, not much fun. I walked through and did not want to linger. I remember another time when this place was a lot of fun with a lot of action. So sad.

They might as well close this place. Once again, the tables were never open over a period of 5 days. Just a handful of people sleepily working the slots, and there is a lot of open space in this big barn. Very sad, but my memories of a fun past linger.

They might as well shut it down. Just a bunch of slot machines, the same ones that have been here for years. A few players. Table games set up, but they are never ever open. One of two staff people walking around. A little bar off to one side. I guess the overhead is low so maybe it makes a little profit. But it is so sad.

They slammed us with a resort fee of 40.00. They shuffled us off to the tower with was a half mile walk.
we left to go to dinner on the tower side and could not get in with our key card and no one answered the bell. We had to walk around two blocks and then had to take the half mile walk to the room. We are in our eighties. It was just too much.Never again~!

They might as well shut this place down. Nothing left except a bunch of slot machines in a very large hall. It's dark and shabby. Very few staff, probably because there is nothing to do. Very few customers. A shadow of its former self.

This place has certainly seen better days. The table games are gone except for busy weekends, so it's just a huge hanger of slot machines which are barely in use. Just an empty sad place. No energy. I used to love to gamble here, but those days are gone.

What a strange place to stay! It was clean, safe, cheap, easy to get to, had a great breakfast buffet... but 24 hours a day, people are plugging quarters into slots and standing around dealers with this air of glassy hope/fear.

Obviously, I don't gamble. We had a cheap flight into Reno and we drove out the next morning to Yosemite. We looked at the standard corporate hotels for a place to spend the night, but the hilarity of staying at Circus Circus won us over. We took a chance and it ended up being a memorable place! Not as kitschy as I had hoped, but can't be beat for the price.

I stayed in the Circus Circus as a stop off when touring around the US for several weeks, hence I have stayed in many different casino's / hotels & motels at various prices and standards and this was by far the worst experience of them all.

Before I continue, I would like to point out that as an experienced traveller I am open minded and take into account star ratings/prices & locations before making judgement, but a basic level of cleanliness should be a minimum requirement and that was sadly missing at this hotel.

The first room we were given was in the Sky Tower and it was at best a 1 star and certainly not up to the standards as a Rodeway Inn at the side of an Interstate. The room had a huge spiders web in the corner of the room which had clearly been their for weeks - if not months. The carper was filthy with months of dirt all round the edges and generally disgusting.

We complained and the staff were admittedly sympathetic and give us another room to check out before moving us. To our horror, the carper between the beds (in the middle of the room) has 30 plus toe nail clippings all over the floor!

We advised reception and showed them the photos and they were shocked & suitably embarrassed.

Finally, they got the head housekeeper to accompany us to a third room in the main building which appeared acceptable. By this time we were tired, had some food and went to bed rather than spend the night gambling which was the original plan. We then heard the elevator creaking and children screaming all night long but by this time we just give up.

All in all, this Hotel/Casino is unacceptably dirty/noisy and an unpleasant experience which I would recommend anyone to avoid.

To add insult to injury, they still had the cheek to charge the resort fee when we left!

I am surprised at the positive reviews and can only assume some people have very low expectations so feel free to check it out for yourself and make your own mind up, but you have been warned...

Just a quick note for Manager if you do intend to respond saying "your disappointed that we have had a poor experience and you will rectify these issues" I notice others have mentioned some of the above before and theirs been no change. I sympathise with you as you have a big job bringing this accommodation to a reasonable standard....

I will say the staff are great considering the problems they have to deal with.

Fortunately we have moved on and will put this down to a bad experience which is not to be repeated.

If you are traveling to Reno with the kids, the Circus Circus Midway will be a great place for family fun. They have circus acts running throughtout the day, I believe in 20 or 30 minute intervals. These acts are performed right there in the middle of the midway so you don't even need to go anywhere. Just look up or at the stage pending on the act. Plus the circus acts are free. It is basically an indoor carnival, as it has all the carnival games to test your skills or luck ! The games are pretty kid friendly for the most part. Each game will cost you anywhere from $1 to $3 to play. Watch out for the prizes given for wins, as you may need to win a few times to trade up to a prize your kids want. It's pretty easy to spend $100 if you have a couple kids to supply game money to. Then again, what's 100 dollars to see smiles on our kids faces right ?!?! Plus it will eleviate the guilt as you are gambling away their college money later ! just kidding !!! Hopefully you will leave with a bag full of stuffed animals and smiles on your kids faces. All in all this is a popular attraction in Reno for all.

The great thing about going to the Circus Circus is that it is connected to The Silver Legacy, which is connected to the El Dorado. All three casinos are connected to eachother, so you can walk to all 3 casinos without going outside. How good is that ?!?! Have fun !!!

I’m deducting a star just because of the $35-ish per day “resort fee” charges. I don’t get it. We weren’t offered free WiFi, there is NO pool, and a gym facility that we can’t even use; what is the resort fee for?

Other than the resort fee snafu, the room we stayed at is updated, modern, and very clean (see my pictures attached).

Check-in & check-out were fast and easy - during the weekdays. I cannot comment on the weekends.
