Local ski area, with the best, and steepest terrain in North America.

Mount Rose Ski Area has the steepest terrain of any mountain in North America. The chutes are scary steep, and really for expert, extreme skiers. Be careful in those....I love to ski the mountain. Either for a few hours, or all day, it is a good value.

I love Mt. Rose. I have been skiing there with my family since I was about 5 years old. Although I like how it used to be more personable and family oriented, it is still my favorite place to ski. I buy a pass there every year. There is an increasing amount of corporate feel to it that I'm really... More

Within the past year or so Mt. Rose removed (e.g.) Senior Citizen and student discounts. Their season pass is no longer competitive with nearby competition (e.g., Northstar, Heavenly, Kirkwood = one / 1 pass applicable for ALL three / 3 resorts). It appears that since Mt. Rose is now up for sale the current owner appears to be wanting to... More

This ski resort works well, cause of it's closeness to my residence. The resort has a fun & informative ski program for young & seasoned skiers. You receive 25% discount, when you purchase a ski pass. The mountain offers fun skiing!

Mt. Rose is a great local ski mountain. While smaller than the "big" resorts around Tahoe, it doesn't have a large number of runs, it does have a good variety of runs...including the Chutes (when open), some amazing diamond and double diamond runs. There are only two high speed lifts, making for possible long lines and crowds at the top.... More

Easy access from Reno with a good variety of runs. It is very family oriented and provides very good views as well as fun and some challenging slopes!

Great local beginner to advanced ski area with mostly groomed trails and a few not. 45 minutes from downtown Reno. If you act early you can get a full season pass for the cost of a weekend. Higher base than most ski areas and the only ski area with great views of Lake Tahoe and Reno from the slopes.

LOCATION: I admit that for many years I did what a lot of other San Francisco bay residents did; we drove up to the West side of the Tahoe area to stay and ski at one of the many nice lodges and slopes there. No more. If you are willing to travel a bit further up over Donner Pass and... More

Some of the best snowboarding available in the U.S. is here in The Chutes. Only 25 minutes from Reno, great variety of terrain for all ski levels, good food. I skied here 5-7 days a week for 7 years (good value, sometimes a bit windy).

Mt Rose has the best all around skiing on the east side of Lake Tahoe. From beginners to advanced skiing you can enjoy the beauty of the area and on most days enjoy the views of Reno and the Washoe Valley area.
