Now downtown is not what it used to be with so many casinos closed. But if you walk a little to the west, you will find a lively bar and restaurant scene.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten January 16, 2024

Came back early in the morning (7.30am) and no one was out, had it all to myself. There was lots of street parking available on E Commercial Row. And it's short walk from here to the river front.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten January 21, 2024

It certainly looks better at night when lit up, but you should also visit it during the day. Many casinos and hotels around it, as well sketchy people.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 7, 2024

Reno Arch is one of the famous land mark in Reno city. It is spanning Virginia Street at the intersection with commercial row. It displays that Reno city is the biggest little city in the world.

This landmark is one not to be forgotten. Be sure to pull over into the cutout. Flasher on; one person watch cars and the other take the picture ( I do not recommend going into the middle of the street) but that’s where I got an incredible picture. Go at night it’s the best and Saturday late, you got tons of people that adds to the picture.

Sign’s prettier at night when lights are all lit up. Plenty parking space in the area.
Good spot for tourist visiting Reno area.

Back away from sign and you can get good photos of the sign with the lights of the Casinos behind it.

Certainly worth seeing and definitely worth participating in the many crawls that begin at the Reno Arch. We have had so much fun at the Zombie Crawl which begins under the arch and in the Courtyard at Harrahs. Across the street is the wonderful Whitney Peak Hotel (no gambling and no smoking) which has a climbing wall where you can watch the climbers try and reach the top from standing at the arch. The Italian Festival also begins here with a bandstand and many booths up and down Virginia Street which is blocked off for the celebration. Just a perfect beginning for any event.

The arch is in the middle of the downturn Reno, which is a great photo spot when you are in town. And there is a quick stop place which you can take photo.

Dear sirs,
This is a different arch, at a different location and should have a separate listing. I have a few photos I can upload to show the difference once a new listing of "The Old Reno Arch" or "The Original Reno Arch:" is established.
Sincerely,
Larry Gage

Yes, there are two. Nobody really wants to see the old one though, unless you're on your way to get cocktails at the Foxy Olive.

Was wondering about parking in Reno, near the Arch/Virginia St area. Wanted to park (rental car) and just walk around and check things out. Is there much or any public parking? Thanks - Richard

Self park in any casino parking structure.
