We found it fun to be so close to the area. The restaurant/bar (Little Alien Inn) is quaint and has some great pictures on the wall. At the sign we met a couple who had flown in from Switzerland (they one the farthest travel award..lol)...More

I expected the Extraterrestrial Highway to be a little more alien themed. Besides the 2 signs and a couple of aliens at stores it's just a regular road. The scenery is breathtaking. Snow capped mountains, in Las Vegas I know it sounds sketchy, but higher...More

I learned about this place from watching the movie “Dave”. It’s a nice long bleak drive with wide open scrub and skies. I happened to catch the moonrise on the way back from the town of Rachel and it was cool to pull over and...More

This is one of those places you probably cannot accidentally end up at. It's very out if the way. But definitely worth the drive. The Nevada desert is beautiful in a dry desolate kind of way. There is absolutely nothing out there and that's the...More

If you like to drive on open roads, this is the place to go! It's very desolate, we probably only saw no more than 6 cars while we were here. It's very peaceful. We pulled over and were able to stand in the middle of...More

This is really weird. Driving from Tonopah to Extraterrestrial Highway is quite a drive. Plan on at least an hour and a half if not two.... of non- stop driving with nothing in sight besides a real rural road. When I mean real rural, I'm...More

Nothing reflects the desolate expanses of wasteland sprawling throughout the desert quite like driving down a barely illuminated two-lane road almost entirely devoid of life or signs of civilization passing by. My boyfriend and I took this drive at night, in separate vehicles, caravan style...More

We drove the extraterrestrial highway, stopped at Area 51 and the Alien Gift shop. Fun drive and interesting things to see, and shop. There is a small picnic area right at the start of the Highway, also good place to get a photo of the...More

If you are a geocacher, you should know about this hwy, there are over 800 caches along the hwy, hardly any traffic to make your stops and find the caches, or speed on down the hwy, you won't see much traffic, might see some stray...More

So for our honeymoon, my husband and I wanted to do something different than the typical tropical island. We are both geeks and pop culture fans so going to Extraterrestrial Highway was a no brainer. We stayed in Las Vegas and decided to make this...More

I am not aware of any organized tours. It was about a 3 hour drive each way from Las Vegas. Make sure to fill up with gas and take a couple gallons of water. It is pretty middle of nowhere.

The sign is about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Go all the way out to Rachel, NV too. It’s not a bad drive!
