We enjoyed exploring the area behind the rock as it had some rock formations with a gradual slope and open spaces with soft red sand (almost like dunes). It's unfortunate that the ancient drawings have been defaced by more recent 'scratchings', but it's still worth...More

Interesting place to see some nice petroglyphs. It's pretty much the first stop after entering the park from the west entrance. Nice stairway access to get close to the petroglyphs.

This is one of the first sites to see as you come in from Vegas. Easy parking, easy jaunt to see it.

Wonderful view! Sadly some of the petroglyphs here have been ruined by vandals. Also the viewing windows need replacing so you have to bend and stoop to see around them.

Very cool petroglyphs with stairs to see them and plexi glass to keep you away. It is a shame as you can see from the idiots who carved their names over the glyphs.

Very easy to get to. You get to the rock and there is a stairwell taking you to the area in which the petroglyphs are located. Pretty cool!

Just ..W O W.. one of the stops inside the Valley of Fire 🔥 State Park. The petroglyphs are nicely preserved and it's unbelievable that at one time, that's how people communicated to one another. It was fun to try and figure them out.

Wonderful rock formations within the Valley of Fire State Park. Climb up to Atlatl rock via staircase leads you to ancient rock writings (petroglyphs) Surrounding rock formations are truly beautiful. View the rocks early in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is softest

These petroglyphs are up a steel staircase and fun to see. But in other places (like Mouse's Tank trail) you can see better.
