The interesting information we learned about Las Vegas. Great revitalization going on around Fremont Street, making it safer. Definitely worth it! way better than hop on hop of bus. Something different to do than just the strip.

This was the second time I have done this tour and it did not disappoint! Kelly is knowledgeable and fun to listen to. He shares stories about Vegas that most of us don’t know. The walk is easy, slow and flat. I highly recommend this tour!!

This tour was fantastic. Kelly’s knowledge and passion for downtown vegas is admirable. In and out of places along Fremont st coupled with the stories behind the facades. Absolutely do this tour if you want to see the Real Vegas

The walking tour was very excellent. We got to see old Las Vegas with very good explanations of then and now....... Our guide was fantastic, with lots of tips and suggestions. The overview was excellent. Ideally this tour should be taken at the beginning of your trip so that you get an understanding of how Las Vegas eveloved. All new visitors going to Las Vegas should take this tour.

This 2 hour tour is a must for anyone visiting Las Vegas. Kelly our tour guide brought to life the downtown area....from its beginning to how it is transforming today into a vibrant fun area, with some of its history also being brought back! Thanks Kelly. Highly recommended tour.

We really enjoyed the history with this tour. Our guide, Kelly, was very informative and left us asking few questions because he told us so much. This is our 7th time to Vegas and this was a phenomenal tour of downtown

Wow what a great way to spend a few hours in Vegas. Kelly had so much to tell us, that after the tour I wanted to comeback to Vegas and stay in the old section. Interesting is an understatement so many great stories and tips about the best happy hours around. I would certainly recommend doing this tour.

It turned out that 5 people cancelled so we ended up with a private tour of downtown.
Guide was so knowledgeable about DT Vegas and he had a real passion for it. Learning the history and the little things was so interesting. It was cool to see things that you would never without an insider. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is in vegas. Get downtown and see it for yourself it.

Not only does this tour force you to leave the chaos of the Strip for the semi-historic downtown area, but Kelly will expertly walk you through about a century of history in just a few hours. He will also show you some EXCELLENT values and some really cool things to do after the tour. For example: within 30 minutes of finishing the trip I was able to touch a piece of the Berlin Wall in a men's bathroom. Anyone with even a minor interest in Las Vegas will enjoy this tour!

My wife and I booked the evening tour of Fremont Street. We were provided with headsets so we could always hear Kelly's narrative on the streets we were walking. Kelly knows so much history behind the original buildings along Fremont Street and how they've changed over the years! The photographs he carries really help you get a sense of how things have changed over time. At one point we walked through the Golden Nugget and saw that wonderful indoor swimming pool with the waterslide through the shark tank. How incredible is that! We loved it.

What is the best way to get to this tour when we will be staying on the strip without a car?

I suggest getting a bus pass -- the best value in Las Vegas! Only $20 for 3 days. Unlimited rides. I believe "the deuce" (double decker bus)and the SDX routes run all along the strip and go to downtown.

As to a previous response, our tours do not visit the Neon Museum. They begin at the corner of Fremont St. and Main St. and detailed meeting instructions are provided when you book your tour. The 2 Hour tour ends at 707 Fremont St. (Downtown Container Park).

The walking was straight up Freemont street, ducked inside Golden Nugget. No hills or climbing just straight up the street from the Plaza Hotel and under the canopy. My parents are 71 and did great. You will have great time!

The tour took you back through the history of Fremont Street and how the development progressed over the decades. We loved hearing about the politics and mob influences. The tour ended in container park which was amazing and so many people miss it. I highly recommend the tour. Have fun!

I would take the day tour, it is really worth it, stay down there all day and see Fremont Street at night when it is all lit up.

Really think we would enjoy this eslkingvtour but we're coming to Vegas June 11 and coming from an area in Canada that doesnt typically get that hot I'm wondering if it will be too hot in Vegas for us to be out walking for two hours? Anyone from cooler/less hot climate done this tour in June? How was it?

Thank you for your interest in Las Vegas Walking Tours. People from colder climates take our tour during the summer all the time and they are okay with the temperature. You even have some good feedback here from past cooler climate customers, Mona and Kristen, which is great.
The tour is 2 hours long (without the Pawn Stars add on). For 1 hour of the tour you will be under the Fremont Street canopy. This area is about 10 - 15 degrees cooler due to the fact that the casino's keep their doors open and cool AC is constantly flowing out into the open area getting trapped under the canopy. Our guide does stop near the casino doors when possible along the way to take advantage of this even more.
The very beginning of the tour and the last 45 minutes of the tour are outside of the Fremont Street canopy. Our guide does stop to talk in shaded areas as much as possible. There will be some times when you will be walking/standing in the sun though.
We recommend wearing good sunscreen, clothing that you are comfortable in for warm weather, carrying a bottle of water and a sun hat is always helpful.
The average temperature in June is about 99 F degrees. It can be cooler or warmer then this though. It's a dry heat which is a lot more tolerable then humid heat.
I hope this information helps you decide. We would love to have you out on a tour while you are in Vegas.
