Indoor kart racing is one of those activities you'll either love it or hate it. In my case, I really loved it during my visit to Fast Lap. Let me be clear - I loved the racing part only, when I was in the kart and zooming around the track. The rest of my experience left a lot to be desired.

Let me explain. I called around 3:30pm on a Saturday to inquiry about any wait time, and was told "if you come in now, you'll have to wait until 5pm to race." I was told they take walk-ins only, no reservations and no wait lists. We drove there at 4pm since we were staying nearby on the strip, just to make sure we can find it. We walked up to the front desk and it turns out there's a private party going on until 5pm, so they were taking no walk-ins until 5. Would have been nice if you mentioned it on the phone!

We left and came back at 4:50pm. For whatever reason, there were already about 10 people there (walk-ins!) gearing up getting ready to race. Really? What's going on here?

Anyway, we paid, watched the 2-min "safety video" and proceeded to the track area. We were told we should be on the next race. That didn't happen. We waited patiently and watched 2 races (each 10 minutes, plus about 5-7 minutes downtime between races), and when they showed the roster for the 3rd race, our names were still not up, so I went back to the front desk to ask for our status. We were told we won't be on the 4th race either, but will be on the 5th race. I was annoyed. I went back to the track and politely asked the track master if he could squeeze my wife and I on the next race as we've been waiting for over 45 minutes. He reluctantly did it. We geared up, and by 6pm, we finally got in the karts for our 1st race.

The race itself was great fun, as I said before, but when the race was over, we hit another set back. We paid for 3 races each, and would you believe if you paid for multiple races, you DO NOT get to race back-to-back! What? You have to wait again for those that arrived after you to take their first race! We were told we have to wait for at least 2 races (that's at least half an hour). That wouldn't work for us since we have a 7pm show to catch on the strip. We went back to the front desk, asked for a credit voucher for the unused races (sorry no refunds!), and left.

Poor communication, poor training, and poor customer service really made it a disappointing visit for us to Fast Lap. For a business located walking distance from the strip, pitching to tourists, they need to do better. The 3 high school kids working there need a lot of training in customer service. Nothing against high school kids working part time - I did it when I was in high school, but there's no excuse for not training them to take care of customers. 5 stars for the karting experience, 1 star for customer service, so Fast Lap gets 3 stars from me.

My husband and I were in Vegas with 2 other couples celebrating my husband's 30th birthday. I found a voucher for Fast Lap on Travelzoo and thought it sounded like something my husband would love. We were staying at The Signature at the MGM and decided to walk to Fast Lap around lunchtime on a Monday. It took us about 30 minutes, so it was a little bit of a hike. It's probably best to go during the week as there was no wait. We had a blast! They had racing suits and gloves you could wear if you wanted. Of course we opted to so we looked legit! Definitely the fastest go-carts I've ever raced. My husband had a GoPro and they allowed him to attach it to his helmet. It was fun watching the video afterwards. Would definitely recommend for something different to do!

Overall, I had a great time at Fast Lap.

The location is kind off out of the way and a little deserted but, it was clean and accessible.

When we first arrived, the wait was too long so we went back the next day. I recommend going early in the day if you can. Once we paid we were led into a room where we watched a safety video and had the option of wearing racing suits. Once the video is over, you enter the racing area. Here we pick up gloves, a head sock and helmet and wait for your name to appear in one of the races. The races are determined by the workers. When there were few people, we were able to race every other race. Once more groups arrived, it seemed like we waited a little longer than others to get our last race in.

At the end of the race, you can receive a print out with your times and those of the others in the race. At one point, they ran out of paper, so this may not be guaranteed.

Be aware that there may be very serious drivers on the course as well as novices (I was) so, the level of competition and fun may not be balanced. Also, some cars had greater handle than others and you are not guaranteed the same car for each race.

Give this place a shot, I enjoyed it.

We came here as a large group of guys for a stag do / bachelor party in May 2011, and we were let down on service and experience in many ways.

We did not get picked up from our hotel (as promised), they were not ready for our booking, we had to alter our schedule, we couldn't all race at the same time due to broken down karts, the organisation was terrible, 4 from our part couldn't race at all due to not having enough karts (although we were assured that we could all race at the same time).

We were led to believe that we would receive a refund based on their failures, however this did not happen.

There are two karting locations in Vegas - I would highly recommend not coming to this one if you want to Kart but instead go to Pole Position [--]

DO NOT PURCHASE THE GROUPON FOR THIS PLACE! This place is closed but this Groupon is still up and the owner is still advertising! I have been to Vegas 3 times (Dec 26-30 2017, Feb 12-15 2018, and Feb 25-26 2018) since purchasing trying to redeem this Groupon and it has had a "CLOSED" sign on the door with different excuses. The first attempt to use the Groupon, we called and were told it was only good Monday-Friday. Well we had went there every day that week and the only day they were open and answered the phone was that Saturday conveniently. Went back for a Valentines trip and they were still closed all week. Stopped by again on Monday, Feb 26th, and guess what...CLOSED! Tried calling their number and now their phone number is disconnected! I am soooooo upset, as now I have two Groupons for this place that I cannot use nor get a refund!

When researching things to do in Vegas, we came across the Groupon deal for go Karting- thought it would be a good time and break from the strip.

We arrived and were signed in, taken to a back room where we were left to watch a safety video and left alone for maybe 25 minutes. We finally made our own way out to the track asking when we would be up and were made to wait 30 more minutes and find our own helmets and gloves with no direction from the staff whatsoever.

They didn't even tell us when it was our turn or which cart was ours. We were expected to keep track on the smallest screen which wasn't even directed at us. Not to mention the fact that the staff acted like they were too important to be bothered by us.

The go karting itself was ok, but not for anyone who is not a pro or speed fanatic. Personally the kart didn't feel safe as the motor was right next to my arm and get very, very hot. The rule video i mentioned earlier went to hell once on the track and the staff never even payed attention to the racers.

Now for the bad part:

The place is dirtier than a zoo! As soon as you walk in you can feel the muck all over you. The helmets and gloves smelled so bad that one of us backed out before even putting them on.

After racing once (after waiting 1 hr), we were made to sit out on the next race while those racign with us before got to continue. No communication from the staff, just pulled our names off the screen.

Deciding we felt dirty, endangered and ignored enough, we put all the stuff back and walked out- without even being looked at by any of the staff on the way out!

Oh well! I guess they got their money...

Don't trust the employees that work there My son celebrated his birthday there last year and had 5 races leftover that we didn't use. The female employee asked for our Zip Code and name then told us we can use them anytime with NO expiration.
My son is going to serve our country in the Navy next week so he called Fast Lap and they said they had a system upgrade & wouldn't have our information in there anymore, so we were out of luck. I called and talked Megan who basically called me a liar since WE had no proof that they owed us the 5 races. She offered to give us the employee discount. Why would we want to pay AGAIN?
THEY lost the proof (everyones account) and they blame us ??

Thankfully I'm a concierge at a major hotel in town and know where to send our guests now.
Pole Position.

From the first impression of this place it was very unprofessional. The receptionist was a young girl that just starred at us when we walked in, didn't say anything at all. Obviously she was not taught how to greet the public when running a business. She had us fill out the forms and took our money for 3 races for 4 of us. Showed us another room where jumpsuits where hanging and said we could put them on if we wanted, and for us to watch a video. Then she left and never came back to see if we had any questions or tell us what to do next or anything. The video went over and over again about NO BUMPING!!! There were signs everywhere about NO BUMPING and the consequences if you did bump. There were about 4-5 guys working the track and started your cars for you, but they weren't very professional either. Didn't really speak to you, just pointed to a car. The first race was just us 4, all went well. Then 3 more men joined for the second race and they obviously had done this before and were out for blood. One of them started in front of me, but by the 5-6 lap I passed him fair and square, no bumping. But that must have made him mad because him and his buddy smashed me from each side. I was so shaken I had to leave the race. What were their consequences????Nothing! They weren't warned or made to come off the track or anything. Needless to say I couldn't even enjoy my last race I paid for because I was so shaken. If this is your first time on a Go Kart, please don't use this facility. They are not professional at all and don't follow their own rules!! I'd really hate to see what would happen if some got hurt.

First I was really excited to do this. I have done the Go-karts before in other cities and loved racing my friends. I got a great Groupon deal for Fast Lap (their is a reason they need a Groupon to get business). The place is looks like an abandoned warehouse that Meth addicts hang out behind. Was going great till their employees started spinning out the other patrons. Not the best fun time to have when you can't enjoy the race when the employees are jerks and spin you out. They did this to several people. I went to Pole Position near by and the place is more upscale with better customer service and nicer facilities. Seriously don't go not worth the Groupon price.

This is a totally unprofessional, unsafe & extremely disappointing venue. Paid 50 dollars each for 20 min session for my husband & son. On checking our timing sheet, which we had to ask for, our total time on the course was 15 minutes. Karts vary in lap speed, my husband changed karts 3 times as they kept failing, which decreased his session further, we gauged he was on the course for approx 12 minutes. I also paid 26 dollars for a 10 minute session for my daughter and her kart failed and I had to bring this to the attention of staff who were oblivious to her as their mobile phones were much more important. My daughter was on the course for approx 6 minutes. My daughter has cuts on her left leg (photo attached) due to a wire sticking into her from the kart. I told staff about this on my way out who seemed unconcerned. My son has bruising on his back (photo attached) from a one size fits all seat, as he is on the slim side. He only noticed this when he showered after getting back to our hotel. No manager on site to complain to, venue run by incompetent youths. A waste of 135 dollars. Unfortunately you cannot rate no stars on Trip Advisor which is what this review actually is. COMPLETE RIP OFF.
