- BBB-MLJLondon, United Kingdom358 contributionsPleasant Oasis a Manic CityWe stumbled across this when taking a shortcut through the hotel to avoid the 35c (95f) temp outside and enjoy the aircon of the hotel. The flamingo’s, ducks and koi appear to be well looked after. I fear the pelican has had its wings clipped to stop it flying away - it looked like it was trying to take off but couldn’t.Thanks for visiting our habitat! The California Brown Pelican is a rescue-rehab bird who has permanent wing damage sustained in the wild, and he is an education ambassador for his species. There are 2 educational keeper talks daily (830am and 2pm). Hope to see you next time you visit!Written November 11, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 20, 2023

- Mike from Rival TownNiagara Falls, Canada1,039 contributionsI love flamingos 🦩😁My Dad and I were exploring the Strip one day and decided to check out The Flamingo. He told me it’s a classic but it’s a little dated and run down. We were NOT expecting to stumble into a wildlife spot with some really cool birds/fish. I absolutely LOVE flamingos and pelicans so this was a pleasant surprise for me and I enjoyed this area so much I’m debating taking my fiance here to stay when I return! If that area looks this cool and beautiful now I can only imagine what it looked like during the “glory days” of this resort. I would definitely recommend stopping by here if you’re trying to kill some time before the next activity/show!Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 14, 2023

We got lucky and were here during the educational feeding time. It was a wonderful and free experience. There are many varieties of fish, some turtles, an engaging pelican, and the stars of the habitat, the flamingos.Visited January 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 3, 2024
- Mike from Rival TownNiagara Falls, Canada1,039 contributionsFlamingoes mean vacation!Had a blast in this area! Flamingos are my favorite animal because I always joke with my family and friends that flamingos mean vacation! 😁 Enjoyed seeing the different birds and animals. I have read though that there used to be way more animals during its “hey day”, and I do agree there’s some areas that felt a little bare and empty, but still a very peaceful, beautiful area with some cool birds!Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten February 27, 2024
- Viorica66 contributionsSmall and beautifulNice set up by Flamingo hotel, with a few flamingos, fish, turtles and ducks. It’s not big, it’s not fancy, but it’s a good place to walk through and see something else besides casinos. There are good places to take pictures with beautiful backgrounds. Keep in mind it’s not a zoo so don’t have high hopes. It’s a 5 minutes visit.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 28, 2024

The Flamingo 🦩 Habitat behind the Flamingo resort is one of the better free attractions in Vegas. Excellent for families. It’s a bit of a walk to get to. You need to trek through the lobby and the casino floor of the Flamingo hotel to reach the habitat out back. But once you find it, there is a lovely oasis of waterfalls, greenery… and yes, a few elusive flamingos hiding out somewhere along the maze of walkways. It took us until the very last section before we spotted three pink birds atop a rock in a back corner somewhere. Along the way we did slot several colourful birds singing and frolicking in the fountains. The one negative for us on this visit was that several guests were smoking in these tropical gardens. Either smoking is now permitted here, or no one was enforcing the rules. Either way, it made breathing a challenge. Overall, it was an enjoyable 15 minutes of relaxation amid the fast pace existence on Las Vegas Blvd.

Small exhibit with 8-12 flamingos and benches to sit around but people stand in front of you. Pelicans, turtles and enormous koi fish also on display. Winding walks past nice waterfalls. Rub lucky Buddha's belly (but beware of smoking area nearby).

I remember coming here many years ago, when in Vegas, and was sad to see that the penguins are no longer there. However, the flamingos were gorgeous, as well as the various other birds and fish, etc. that we saw. It's wild to think that they live in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip! Everyone enjoyed this stop and it's wonderful that it's free! Take a break off the strip and enjoy some nature.

It is located in the courtyard of the hotel Flamingo.
We wanted to check this site out.
Access is free.
It is a small wildlife habitat with flamingos, birds, turtles, fish. There are some brown pelicans, ducks.
Fake grass. The place does not seem to be well maintained, it has a pungent smell and the animals do not look good, just like a bad and sad zoo, where animals, in innatural conditions, perform unhappily for tourists.
It needs to be cleaned and urgently renovated.
We left after few minutes in a mood of despondency and sadness.
Not worth a special trip to see it

The Flamingo Habitat at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas is a unique and free experience that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the Strip. The habitat features a variety of wildlife, including vibrant flamingos, turtles, ducks, fish, and even a pelican, all set in a beautifully landscaped environment.

The colorful birds and tranquil surroundings create a refreshing contrast to the busy surroundings of Las Vegas. Overall, it's a must-visit location for anyone looking to take a break and enjoy some wildlife in a lovely setting.

Lovely little hide out inside this hotel. You get some beautiful wildlife and great for taking photos. It is very hot when you step outside as it’s enclosed so seems to trap the heat in the area. Kids would love seeing the animals and it’s free.

My husband and I were here at the Flamingo Hotel on a Friday morning. What an oasis amidst the Las Vegas Strip. So quiet and peaceful. This habitat is approximately 4 acres and it's a free attraction. Such a delight to see some Chilan Flamingos, an assortment of ducks, turtles, some gorgeous fish and the handsomest pelican named Bugsy. Yes he was named after the mobster Bugsy Siegel who opened the Flamingo hotel in 1947.
It is very clean and tranquil. Some beautiful waterfalls, ponds and gardens to get some great pictures. We stumbled across the 8:30am keeper talk. Jackie was a wealth of knowledge. You can truly see the love she has for her job and the animals she takes care of. She was wonderful. There is another keeper talk at 2pm if 8:30am is a wee bit too early for you.
There is no smoking in this area so, please adhere to that rule. It's nice to get away from all the smoke in Vegas for awhile.
We highly recommend you take a stroll through this oasis if you are near the Flamingo Hotel. I believe their hours are 7am - 8pm. Say hello to Bugsy for us.

Worth the time to walk through the gardens, see the birds and fish, and read the information about the different species. A welcomed respite from the neon, noise, and cement of the Strip. But as others have mentioned, the area needs a good cleaning. I didn't notice any smell, but the human-produced trash (cigarette butts, soda cans, wrappers, plastic cups) thrown on the ground and even in the water was distressing. Also, smoking is allowed at the flamingo fountain. Yuck!

How would I access the Flamingo Habitat from The Linx Promenade? Is there a marked passage outside or do you have to go in Flamingo Hotel and out the back of it? Thanks
Written February 27, 2021
Hi, I am going to Vegas in a couple weeks. Can you tell me where the Flamingos are please. Thank you!

How much is the entry cost and can we just waik in and buy the ticket directly without any appointment.
Written December 19, 2018
There is no charge for this attraction ,it's in the courtyard by the pool. However ,be prepared to be bombarded by salespeople trying to sell you timeshares as you enter the hotel casino area

Can I pet or touch the flamingos ? Can you hand feed them or be more interactive?
Written October 22, 2017
No. I don't think the animals would like that either
