About
We are located in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. When you arrive to our ranch, there is a dirt parking lot with a huge sign that says Horseback Riding. You go through the gate under the sign and drive up the short, well maintained dirt road, to the horses, and our office at the top of the hill. Up there you will find our office where we will sign you up then get you on your horse at the corral for your ride.

Nothing special. Large groups, apathetic guides, and they don't mention how cold it gets when the sun goes down. You head out at 80 degrees for the sunset ride, and when you get back, it's 40 degrees. They advertise safe for social distancing but then they don't require a mask in the bus and they cram 40 people into a small indoor dining room to eat. It's very overpriced for what you get. There are better options that are more personable with smaller groups and also less expensive. We enjoyed Wild West very much, and considered Cowboy Trail Rides an expensive waste of time and health risk due to the lack of social distancing and their failure to recommend outerwear even if the day was very warm.

Don’t put your hard earned money at risk! Unfortunately, I am unable to write a positive review for Cowboy Trail Rides located in Las Vegas, NV. I had to cancel a 4 person trail ride scheduled for 4/8/2020. After numerous phone calls with Jim, I was assured my refund had been processed. I continue to leave multiple voice mail messages and email contacts and Cowboy Trail Rides does not respond. I have not received a refund for the 4 person ride booked in accordance with their refund policy. Reputable businesses and people with character and integrity do not do this. Don't let it happen to you!

Cowboy trail rides is not answering phone calls, emails, facebook messages. On top of that they updated their cancellation policy since we booked in February. When booked there was no mention of a $25 cancellation fee. Also added is a reconfirmation 24 hours in advance. Not sure how that is even possible to reconfirm when they do not answer the phone. Voicemail box is full. Reporting to BBB and Visa in attempt to get money back.

Hi, we were really excited to book this ride and paid over $400 dollars. Because of corona virus we were not allowed to travel from the UK because of Trump not allowing UK nationals in and our whole trip was cancelled. I was reassured on
Wed, 18 Mar, 16:30. that 'your refund is being processed' ! Since then I have heard nothing..no one answers emails...I will keep trying, because if we do revisit later next year I would like to book again, but at this stage I would JUST like a refund please which we are entitled to according to your policy.
I hope to hear from you soon

I was there Just to look how it works and eventually book a ride. I saw a very big groop with unexperienced people on the mules and horses backs, and when they left for their ride there wss a big white mule with a leg problem he was in pain. I told this to 3 quides, they said he was ok, but he was NOT. And they just went with this mule. They must ALWAYS take good care of their annimals, and they did nog. Don"t ever go for a ride there, please!

Great start to the day and the perfect contrast to the strip!! Good natured mules that know the trail and love a cuddle ❤️ The guides (David, Ray and Holly) were fantastic, really knowledgeable and helpful. Ray sharing his many cowboy stories was a real highlight! Beautiful scenery also. We did the 2 hour canyon ridge ride 😊

We loved this ride! We opted for the 1.5 hour ride instead of the 2 hours and I was very glad! After the first full hour I was a bit sore. The ride before us was 2 hours and many felt it was too long. The tour guides are amazing! So friendly and helpful. The horses appeared well cared for. The views were so pretty!

My friends and I took the Red Springs Ride on Tue Sept 29th at 11:00am. Gaylene was our wrangler. She was awesome. She was very helpful with getting us on and off the horses (laughing through it all). She talked about the Canyon and different rides. She told us about the plants that are edible on the trails. I will definitely be back again for the evening trail ride with the Bbq at the end and watch the sunset. Gaylene you are awesome, and I did get your name right.

Easy to find. The wranglers were knowledgeable and matched rider to horse based on experience and size. The trail ride was through the desert. The horse/mules were very easy to ride. We had the sundown/dinner ride and we had a wonderful steak and potato meal. Then we sat at the campfire roasting marshmellows for s'mores. Only word of caution is watch were you step. LOL.

Fantastic trail ride with highly experienced, professional and patient "cowboys". Good for even first time riders. Our 14 and 15 yo girls totally enjoyed. Great scenery

What time do you return (to the stirip) after the 8am morning canyon rim ride?
Written August 1, 2023
I’m thinking of doing the sunset ride with dinner when I go in December. For anyone who did this in December or near there, Around what time do you arrive back at the Strip?
Written November 24, 2022
Yes. It's a trail ride. No galliping. It's guided and a rider explains trail stuff as he/she rides up and down the group. You can't go fast due to trail winding around and ground us not level

probably can. these horses are very well trained as trail horses and the people working were cowladies when we were there and were very accommodating and personal. I felt like they were my sisters. It can be hot, so your back may make you sweat. Its also off the road with no traffic going there so you can leave your pack with the cook if you have wine for the campfire or other items. Nobody is going there unless they are on the trailride. I would only carry camera, hat and coat. They stop for photo ops and you stay on the horse and they take the picture other than the sunset pics and pics of those traveling with you, which you can get from atop the horse.

How is cell phone service like if we do the sunset and dinner ride?
Written June 30, 2019
I only used my cell phone to take pictures as well. Like the other reviewer said, you won't want to talk on the phone anyway the scenery is fantastic!

Every horseback riding place has a weight restriction to protect the horses and the riders. If you are too heavy is just not safe. Not sure what this place's weight limit is, best call them directly and ask.
Written December 27, 2018
do you provide small saddlebag for the ride ? enough to hold bottle of water and my cellphone ? For the sunset ride should we wear shirt with sleeves ?
Written August 28, 2018
Yes to both questions. Make sure you bring a camera!

Bit worried about the heat as I am with two kiddies under 12. Temp is high 90s this week

The sunset ride is incredible. You can still ride while it is light out but being later in the day, it is not as hot. Plus the views and sunset are amazing....nothing like it. Food at the end of the ride is incredible. Highly recommend.

Does Cowboy Trail Rides offer a late afternoon/evening trail ride without the BBQ dinner? I would like to go at sunset but I'm not really interested in the dinner option.
Written May 3, 2017
not sure pretty sure it's offered as a package but worth calling on. I do highly recommend the BBQ meal that is provided! It was Delicious!
