I love Red Rock Climbing Center. I went here last winter because I was looking for cool things in Vegas not on The Strip, and this place was something many tourists i've talked to didn't know existed. So of course I went down and ended up making a silly video about it.

I had no idea at the time that this is one of the oldest indoor rock climbing gyms in the country and has been around for 20 years! there is multiple levels of climbs you can do, they have auto-belay machines so you can easily go alone (or with someone of a totally different size than you) and not have to worry about belaying each other, and they even offer memberships on all sorts of levels (from day to monthly) as well as classes that teach you how to indoor rock climb (if you are in vegas for a few weeks, this package is totally worth it because gear rental is included and you learn skills and tips on how to improve your climbing).

And like i said, you can get 1 day passes to just come and rock climb (and leave and come back if you want, they are good for the whole day). There are showers too, and they do birthday parties, corporate 'teambuilding' events, and any other kind of group outing you want.

Seriously check this place out if you want something different to do in Vegas, or if you just need to burn off all those drinks and food you had last night.

They are on West Charleston, right down the street from the Red Rock Casino.

This was our second experience climbing outdoors (instead of in the gym) and the first one trad climbing. Our guide, David, was great! He chose a spot that was perfect for our skill level and was a patient and helpful instructor. We plan to come back and climb with them again next time we are in the area!

We booked a full-day climbing guide, unfortunately it rained the day before which meant that it was not possible to climb (wet sandstone is brittle). The Red Rock Climbing Guides made it possible to reschedule us, even on a busy spring weekend!

"Our" climbing guide took us to the park and guided us to climbing routes which were suitable to our climbing skills. He provided a safe climbing environment, encouraged us without pushing us beyond our limits.

After 8 hours at the park, we drove happy and exhausted.

Came in with my 5yo son just wanted to kill an hour and have mu son try something new. The person at the front desk treated us very poorly. Even rolling his eyes at us.
Sadly we can’t comen on the experience since we didn’t stay.

The gym is old as well as the holds but the route setting is good. The bahtroom is clean. But the pad is full of dust. I sneeze anytime I jump on the pad. The gym has auto belay which is very convenience if you don't have partner to belay you. Also the gym has lead rope climbing, toprope climbing and bouldering. The gym is poor of light so it will be good to visit at day time. Also there is a small climbing gear shop close to the gym if you want to buy some.

Great variety of climbing walls perfect for challenging all levels from first timers (us) to those training for competition. Lots of freedom to try out this strategy sport of balance and agility. Cool tunes for a zen like concentration. Don't miss the boulder spot in the back cave. Friendly and encouraging staff. Definitely a unique family with kids option outside of the usual vegas vibe.

A fun way to pass a few hours. The kids go up the rocks, the parents take care of the belay line. As simple as that! My husband and I had never managed the belay line before, so we both had to take a lesson. It does take a little bit of getting used to, as well as physical effort, depending on the weight of the child.
Everything that you need can be rented on the spot. The children's fee was for the whole day (rates can be found on their website), but after about 5-6 climbs they were both tired. We could have gone back later in the day, but ended up doing other things.
The young man at the counter was friendly and helpful, which made us feel very much at home. We had some interesting conversations. Definitely a memorable part of our trip!

Climbing with RRCC was by far the highlight of our trip to Las Vegas. My 14 year old daughter is an avid climber and we brought some of our gear to climb at Red Rock Canyon. Unfortunately, we soon found out that if you don't know the area very well, it is nearly impossible to choose (let alone find) some of the hundreds of awesome climbs that Red Rock has to offer. Just as we were about to give up, we stumbled upon Red Rock Climbing Center where the helpful staff got us a guide at a great rate. Adam was an excellent guide with loads of experience. He has a very patient, easygoing personality, lots of interesting stories to tell, and gives solid, straightforward advice. My daughter and I had a blast with him learning how to improve our lead climbing skills and overall technique. Even if you aren't into climbing, DO NOT miss Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. It is the jewel of Las Vegas, and climbing with Adam made our experience even more memorable and fun. It was worth every penny. Have fun!

If you're curious or already into climbing, be sure to spend a couple hours at Red Rock Climbing Center during your next visit to Vegas! Four floors of climbing, amazing facility, plus terrific staff, helpful for all, even tourists visiting. Must do for this major climbing center!
