We came here again to see about making a little spending money while killing some time. It was disappointing to find out that CBS no longer offers cash for performing a TV show review. We did receive couple of coupons for the Haagen Dazs (50% off) and Hunger Games exhibit down the hall though.
We were also told that they don't do the TV show focus groups anymore. We completed an optional 10-15 minute survey to see if we qualified for a $75 Chase Freedom credit-card advertising focus group, but we never heard back either way. The survey was rather specific, so they may have gotten all the information they needed from that.
We also did a TV show review. It took about an hour. You watch a show on the computer while using a mouse to adjust your interest level. Then you answer a few questions afterwards. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.
It was fine, but really only worth it if you have some spare time and are looking to save a few bucks on ice cream or the Hunger Games exhibit, or are just a big TV person who thinks it would be fun to preview/review a new show.

Pretty good way to pass the time; the coupon was weak though. That being said, I will now be looking for the show that I was “rating” so I’m cool with that hour of my life. Easy to find if you park at Topgolf and come in the back way.

If you have an hour to spare away from the casino floor at the MGM Grand, take a long stroll back towards the pool along their Studio Walk. At the end of the shops you'll find MGM's Television City where you can get FREE tickets to watch a pilot TV show AND give your opinions and review the show you watched. You give your age and you watch a show that fits that demographic. They have computers set up where you fill in answers to opinion questions (some multiple choice, some short essay) about the show. And during the show you have a dial you set to indicate how interested you are in the show. We got to view a sitcom pilot. At the end of the hour they give you a $10 gift certificate to the CBS studio shop (you can buy a CSI mug, Survivor keychain, etc.) plus a coupon for free tokens down at their video arcade (great to give to your kids while you go back to the tables).Definitely worth the hour spent!

You spend an hour watching a show and giving opinions and get the same freebie coupons you can get anywhere on the strip. Got stuck watching 2 Broke Girls :(. At NBC ou watch clips from 4 shows and they give you $15 cash.

We do this on every visit in Vegas. Last evening we walked up to the place and we only saw 2 staff: 1 at the desk, checking his phone and 1 supposed to hand out the ‘invitations’ that completely ignored everybody... I suspect this will soon be cancelled...

Ok, yes there is lots of people working for them in the hotel handing out tickets to join the study group, but I think this is because everyone thinks its time share or a waste of time!
Well, If you have an hour or so to spare and looking for something intresting and gettting paid to boot, this is well worth it.
There was 2 parts to this.
First, We joined up and were taken into a room and each person had a computer and device to rate a brand new TV sitcom pilot never seen on TV yet. We were told to give our honest opinion of the show, even if we hated it.
My husband works in the entertainment/ Film industry so he found this entertaining but I also thought, well, I guess this helps us to get the shows on TV we want to see.
After the sitcom was over, 22 mins with no commercials we were given a packet of coupons for free food in the hotel and a coupon to get free mechandise int he CBS gift shop, not a huge prize or anything but it only took 30 mins .... People leave so fast they dont have time to find out about this next part! (Everyone in Vegas is always in such a hurry!)
but then................
Part 2
We were invited to join in a Study Focus group next in which we were asked to play with brand new electronics either just on the market or not yet released and we would be paid $75.00 per person for doing this and giving our opinion.
Well, we had a little time to kill, so we joined the group, were taken into a comfortable private room, with huge plush executive chairs around a large board room table with bottled water and shown some of the neatest innovative electronics not yet on the market. A few were on the market or just released but most werent yet but we played with an iphone, Zune MP3 Players with video, a new HP computer that was really amazing, played with this flat panel tv that controlled like everything in your house, video games and other fun stuff.
HOW MANY OF YOU GO TO CIRCUIT CITY OR BEST BUY AND PLAY WITH THIS STUFF FOR FREE??
Well, we got paid $75.00 each to do it and it was just really cool stuff, some we had seen before but for $75.00, a comfy chair off my tired aching Vegas walking feet and asking my opinion, it was worh our time.
Sure if your in Vegas for only a few days and want to see it all, you might not have an hour or so for this but if your looking for something different than gaming or shopping or siteseeing this was fun.
Tech lovers will enjoy this!
I'm not a big tech person but it was fun and got paid $75.00 each, time went by fast and then I enjoyed our free food with other coupons from before then bought kids souveniers with the coupons for free merchadise. And 75.00 to book each person! :)
Well worth our time! I recommend this! Plus it's intresting!

Found out about this from an article listing free things to do in Vegas. My husband and I were staying at the Signature which is attached to MGM so it was close by. We didn't make an appointment but got in right away. Pretty much perfect timing. We were in a small group - 6 people total. We watched a new 20 minute CBS sitcom airing soon and then answered several questions on it. It was a cool concept and definitely would do it again. If you score the show at least a 5 you could be chosen to participate in a discussion panel with $50 compensation. I scored the show a 3...lol I did NOT like the show but my husband was more forgiving and gave it a 6. Overall, if you have time I would recommend it just for the experience.

The CBS TV place was kind of challenging to find. Follow the signs for Top Golf. My husband and I both qualified to stay for a paid viewing that would have paid us $50 each, but we would have had to wait almost 2 hours for the next paid showing. So we just did the regular viewing. The show we watched was kind of funny and we got to rate not only it, but lots of other shows too. It was a fun way to pass some time during the heat of the day. Would have been cooler if we didn't have plans already during the paid viewing.

This is what it says. It is a research centre and you are used to do their marketing. If you have plenty of time to kill and are interested in TV that's fine. I feel they are taking advantage of our time. You sit in a darkened room with several computers, watch a TV show then fill out a detailed computer evaluation of the program. I definitely feel they could offer some compensation. A cold drink or coffee would have been lovely. They do give you an envelope at the end with six useless vouchers in it.
$5 off the expensive CSI experience
10% off at Television City
2 x vouchers for 1 month of "Stream On", which I cannot use
10% off Blizzard frozen yoghurt
1 x iTunes download, which I cannot use
I felt as though we were used as guinea pigs and it was a waste of our precious time.

This was a fun little experience for adults and teens to take part in. You get to review a TV pilot before it airs. In our case, it was the tv show that is debuting this fall with Robin Williams. Very funny. You answer questions at the end and they give you a slew of coupons to use after. It's an hour of entertainment that doesn't cost a thing and you get to sit down. Two rare things in Vegas.

Is there parking close by? If parking @ the MGM, is it free?
Written June 29, 2017
Parking is free across the road @ Tropicana or Hooters. MGM resorts charge for parking.

Depending on what they offer, you can probably go daily. If they offer cash, there is probably a restriction but since I am not eligible for their cash (you have to be a US citizen/resident and I'm a tourist), I don't know the answer when they offer cash.
However, when they offer coupons, there is nothing stopping you from visiting them every day. However, you probably only want to use the coupons once if at all (since they are generally for the MGM food court or for the CBS store next door). I think it is the same coupons for a few days/weeks so it isn't like you are getting different coupons every single day that you go.

I went the CBS television research in Las Vegas Nevada so sorry I cant help you

When I was in Las Vegas for 1 week in April 2016, they did offer $20 for 3 of the days that I passed by CBS Television City. The other 4 days that I was there they offered coupons for food in the food court and 10% off at the adjacent CBS store. I didn't partake in the $20 since it was limited to US residents only (there was a sign indicating that they were giving $20 and you had to be a US resident) and I'm from Canada. I did partake in one of the days when they offered coupons although I only used 1 of the coupons (I used the CBS store coupon but did not use any of the food court coupons).
