About
Defending the Caveman is a hilarious look at men and women in relationships. Couples leave the showroom having fallen in love all over again. It's Broadway's longest-running one-person play, and is now Las Vegas' longest-running Broadway show.

Absolutely Hilarious!
I purchased my tickets using the buy 1 get 1 free (including a free T shirt) coupon that you get in all of the magazines and handouts available on the strip. A friend accompanied me, so basically we paid half price. it is one of the most reasonable, if not the most reasonably priced shows on the strip.
My seats were just 2 tables (seats 2) from the stage, so they were not bad. The venue is small by Vegas standards.
Drinks are quite expensive., but service is good.
I would definitely recommend as one of the top things to do when in Vegas.

Some lady gave us a pair of Free Tickets at the last minute as we were wandering around the 2nd floor. We were expecting a Standup Comedy routine, however it was more of a "Broadway Show". So I was a bit disappointed.

Hello, Frontroow,
Yes, Caveman is a Broadway show. We ran for 2 1/2 years on Broadway, setting a record for One-Person Plays. Sorry that Broadway isn't your cup of tea. (In fact, we are the only Broadway show in Las Vegas.) Thank you for coming, and thank you tor taking the time to write a review.!

A combination play/standup comic routine with very thoughtful insights into the differences between men and women. Kevin Burke works well with his audience, making every line appear spontaneous even though you understand that he's been very carefully scripted. Think Tim Allen and his grunting but delivered in a thoughtful manner. It's a bit pricy at $50 or so a head but makes for a nice evening. Parking is either free at the valet at the front door or free in self park. Either works fine. The show is on the second floor so you have to walk through a very smoky casino to get to the elevators up to 2. Likewise, your trip to the bathroom is through a smoky casino and lots of smoking drunks. You walk out the other end of the lobby onto the Fremont Experience which is a genuine wall to wall freak show, drunks and scary characters mixed in with hustlers of every sort. Can't recommend the Experience unless you like that sort of thing. Our guests were from out of town and they wanted to see it. I think they were sorry after walking about a block through the craziness. Actually somewhat took away from the fun at the play but it was still a great bit of theater. A word of caution: The D is downtown which a world apart from the strip of Bellagio, Venetian, MGM etc. where ceilings are high and there's room to walk without bumping into shady characters. Neither experience is particularly bad but they're particularly different

The performer has talent and is enthusiastic, but he makes up in F words and body parts what he is missing in his material. Mostly dull stuff you could read in a book. Someone should help him re do his material. The small room was half-filled and most of the time no one laughed at his remarks. One guy did and the performer said he should be directing the show at him. At best, tepid responses from the audience. Definitely not worth the money. At the casino you could get "buy-one, get one free" tickets. The topic is rich and ripe for good comedy, maybe this can be overhauled. We've seen great shows in Vegas but this was not one of them.

This " comedy " is not for you if you like humor, satire, jokes, genuine off the cuff remarks.
Was said to be 85 minutes. Lasted 55 minutes.
It was so bad I could barely smile.
The performer needs to understand that lame hillbilly humor with stereotypical stale jokes will not cut it.
Besides his delivery was bad and he repeated a few words over and over again ad nauseum.
TV, remote, dic*head, hunter, gatherer, TV, remote...
When I purchased the VI P seats I was promised a free T shirt with each ticket. It was shocking then to hear the performer say at the end " T shirts are available for purchase for ten dollars each..."
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE MOST HUMOR LESS SHOW I HAVE ATTENDED.
DO NOT GO.

It is supposed to be funny but the language was vulgar. Why can't comics be funny without using bad language?

What a horrible evening.
For starters: you have to stand in line against a wall in a hallway with little air conditioning for over a half an hour before they let you into the small showroom. Then you get in and are escorted to cheap stacking banquet chairs that are dressed up with black drapes so you don’t know that you are about to be extremely uncomfortable for the next hour and a half.
This is the experience you have after wandering around the D trying to find the showroom (unless you get lucky with directions from one of the unfriendly employees (we were misdirected 4 times). It is this small space tucked into a corner by the restaurant on the second floor...this should be your clue that it isn’t that great!
So you have now wandered around to find it, then stood around to get into it, and are now stuck sitting in a hard chair for an hour, what is going to happen——you are going to look at your watch constantly to hope this hour and a half one-man monologue ends SOON! It is not a comedy act, it is a one man monologue...don’t be fooled!
Take your $40 and go do ANYTHING else in Vegas...even give a little bit to several street performers on Fremont street.

This is one of those shows you see for free. It's not worth much more. The guy seems nice, doing a dull job trying to make very old and worn out jokes sound funny again. But the fact is, we have all heard these jokes so many times that it is just not funny anymore.
The theater is very small. If there were actually people filling all of the tables it would have been cramped. But I don't think that is ever a problem.
They just need to get a new show in there. This one makes you want the hour of your life back.

I had wanted to see this show for quite sometime and I will tell you now that it was NOT worth the wait. First of all he came off as very rehearsed and almost more of a monologue than a comedian. There were also a lot of sexist references (thus the name of the show) but they were not funny. I actually took a nap about half way through. Would have left but I know my husband found the show OK and we did pay for it so we had to get our money worth.

What are the seats like in this venue? Are the seats in the back ok? What about the cocktail tables? Are they good seats?

It is a very small theater. Any seat is a good seat. Maybe 10 tables across n 6 rows deep. The show is very good, funny and casual. You can catch the show and then go out and watch the Fremont light show.
