The Golden Gate is a fun casino on Fremont Street. The have good gaming rules in the pit. Dancing dealers at night. Nice bar and good cocktail service. They no longer have a restaurant. They have some of the latest slot machines. Nice Circa Sports Book. I will return.

My boyfriend and I go to Vegas often and always stay in the strip. We love to go downtown at least once each time we are there. We had a lot of fun the last time we were at the Golden Gate, so we decided to go there again this time. We were so happy we did. The dealers were fun and talkative. The cocktail waitresses were fast, efficient and friendly. The bartenders were also really nice. I had to go to the bar 3 times because I kept getting the hiccups. I guess it was the giant drink made from Bacardi 151 that did it. They were very gracious about it. We asked for comment cards and were filling one out after another because there were so many great people there. If you enjoy gambling in the downtown atmosphere, I highly recommend the Golden Gate.

Love the Golden Gate Casino in downtown "Old Vegas"! Husband and I were there in August and just again in late October .

GG is our favorite downtown casino, hands down. Great video poker at the bar. Craps table treated the husband well for 2 of the 3 nights; low limits as well.

Make sure to sign up for the Club 1906 card...shrimp cocktail is .99 with your card, and VERY delicious. Nice selection of snacks at back end of casino; hot dogs, nachos, shrimp, deli sandwiches all at a great price. Also, to the far right of the casino, in the back is the Bay City Diner. Great food at an affordable price. Didn't try the $7.99 prime rib, but couple next to us did...huge portion and can feed 2 easily.

Great piano player near back of casino, also.

Make sure to step outside and check out the light show on Fremont.

The bartenders at the bar were absolutely wonderful! Some are practicing their "flair"; it was a lot of fun to watch! These people work very hard so make sure to tip your bartenders! Best Bloody Mary I ever had was here! A special thanks to Curly, Jaime, and Raul for making our time in their casino such an enjoyable one! Looking forward to another visit early 2009!

I stayed there for 9 nights in June this year with a friend of mine. Real old fashioned Hotel, but lovely rooms for the cheap price. This Hotel is right on Fremont Street which is a great location for Downtown Vegas. I will definitely be back there again next year. Hopefully their prices will still be the same.

I might be biast since I've worked here for almost 5 years. But it isn't like work at all. It is the oldest casino in the city.. 1906... even the address is 1 Fremont.
It might not seem like something you want to visit, as it's downtown.. But the owners do more than their part to revamp downtown and make it how it should be.
You have an environment of real people. The light shows of the Fremont Experience happen every hour on the hour in the evening, and the multiple stages have more entertainment then you could imagine. On any given day you could have Arena an 80's cover band, or Hoobastank.. you just never know.
The One Bar outside has the most beautiful dancing bartenders that dance on the bar and make amazing slushey drinks.. To the left of the entrance are some of the world's best flair bartenders.. The flair bartenders are gorgeous and amazing to watch.
When you walk inside it's a quaint casino with two dice tables, tons of slot machines, and beautiful dancing dealers.
The pit bosses wear suits and hats similar to old school gansters. The dancing dealers deal all table games except dice, and gogo on the boxes that are scattered perfectly in the pit.
There are flat screens all along the bar, and inside the pit, including a perfect size high limit room. Big enough for you to get your gamble on, small enough, that no one's in your business.
You can sit at The Prohibition Bar and sip on a cocktail while watching the game, and they will make sure to accommodate you with which ever game you'd like to see on the screen in front of you. Or you can sit down at one of the table games, and have a delightful gambling experience which one of the 60+ dancing dealers that are proficient in all of the games, a peach to talk to and very easy on the eyes.
At the same time, you are faced toward the 3 dancing dealers that are on 3 separate gogo boxes dancing to the music playing over the speakers. Is it quiet? NO. It's a party pit.. and that's what we do.. We bring the party to you while you enjoy the game, the drinks, and gambling.. and the beautiful women never hurt anything.
I'm a huge fan of the Golden Gate Casino, and that's why I've never wanted to work anywhere else.. It's not work to me, it's my pleasure..
You need to do yourself a favor and come down and check us out. It's more chill than the strip, it's more easy going... And it's a better time. You don't believe me? Come see for yourself.. I bet you'll have an amazing time.
The suites have been redone, and it just gets more amazing every time I walk in.

My wife and I are low rollers so we loved the famous $1.99 shrimp cocktails and the penny slots at the Golden Gate (GG). After a nice shrimp snack, we played the slots and actually won about $60.00 on the penny slots. Don't let the penny slot name fool you.....you have to play at least a quarter a pull.

After my wife tuckered out around 10 p.m., I went to play Blackjack and found several $5.00 tables, which is a low stress bet for just about all of us. They had loud, high energy dance music blaring in the pit and the scantily clad dealer/dancers were taking turns dealing Blackjack and dancing on small stages in the pit.

Since I am very happily married, I was immune to the cleavage. The young women, though, were very encouraging and would slap the table after dealing an ace hoping to deal you a face card. I know the encouragement does not change the card coming out of the shoe, but it is a better environment than in somke of the other casinos with crusty, snippy dealers who seem to wish they weren't there. Surprisingly, the stripper looking girls, many heavily tattoed, were very competent dealers who dealt fast, paid out swiftly, and cleared the table for the next hand without wasting time. Even with a full table, play moved quickly.

Also, the loud music drowned out the sound of other players griping about their cards or griping about anyone who dared to steer away from basic strategy. I say everyone is entitled to play their cards however they want to, not everyone agrees. At the GG, you cannot possibly hear the complainers who feel like they were somehow appointed king of the table.

I won all four times I played Blackjack at GG. Even if that were not the case, it is a fun place to play and was the talk of the downtown strip. The pit bosses were all dressed as mobsters. The smoke was not bad at all.

I would tell anyone playing downtown to try the GG and to take the long walk to El Cortez for $3, liberal rules, two deck Blackjack.

This was a very fun little casino and the only place we visited where my hubby was able to get a pic with a showgirl. See pics. This is a small casino, but it has a very nice old style vegas feel. I would definitely recommend giving this place a visit.

I have lived in downtown Las Vegas for a long time now and have been to all of the downtown venues! In my opinion, The Golden Gate Hotel/Casino is the best place to go if you plan on staying or socializing downtown.
This is the oldest hotel/casino in Las Vegas and was established in 1906. The pit bosses where the old fashioned mob style black outfits and hats and the dealers dress in traditional garb, as well. The dealers are the most attractive in town and they also dance because they rotate their assignments.
Customer service here is spectacular in all aspects, a very fun, friendly, safe environment and great music! Valaria is the sexiest bartender in Las Vegas, which is another plus! Everything is very reasonably priced here and you get a lot of bang for your buck!

i think this may be my fav casino in Vegas, it's small but OHHH so fun. They play upbeat music, always have dancers and great drink service. Gloria is my fav waitress there, she come around fast and is happy to see you. I tend to have pretty good luck there and my husband likes the blackjack game they offer. I can't wait to go back!

The Golden Gate has $1 Roulette with $1 chips..meaning you only have to put $1 on the table at a time...I like to throw out several chips, but it can make your $1's last if you want to spread them out....

The casino is fairly small...and can get some rowdy customers late at night....

The cocktail waitresses seem friendly and fairly prompt and overly appreciative of a $5 tip...

I didn't try it ..but for those of you who like to get the yard frozen drinks...I think I saw a sign that said they would fill your cup for a $1 or something close to it...really cheap...
