Have some of the same slots and games as the big casinos. More of an "homey" experience, didn't feel like just a number.

Having been to vegas loads of times, the El Cortez is a little gem downtown. Easy to overlook, but well worth a visit. The casino isn't huge and it isn't particularly modern, but don't let that put you off. It is quaint and has very...More

Stopped in here for a few hours on New Year's Eve. Awesome place...about a block and a half away from the Fremont Experience. The atmosphere was great when we walked in. The staff working that afternoon were friendly and seemed excited to be there even...More

The casino is kind of dingy and old but it's nostalgic and fun. I had good luck at the BJ tables and two great dealers (I forget their names but remember they're from Cuba). The dealers were nice, the odds were good and the drinks...More

Locals favorite. Gambling dollar goes further here then anywhere else in Vegas. Lots of old time machines and coin operated slots and video poker. 50's decor and really friendly casino staff. You can even order food delivered to your favorite machine. Lots of cocktail waitresses...More

Very nice, old style feel. More laid back and comfortable then the Strip. Small enough to feel homey, yet, large enough not to feel cramped. Low minimum Roulette is nice.

Playing at the El Cortez brings you back to a finer day of old school gaming. They have a section in the back with coin operated machines for a fun afternoon of getting your hands dirty. I enjoy the old machines and hearing the coins...More

We heard about this place from reviewers who raved about the price and quality of their prime rib dinner, which immediately got my attention. So we gave it a try and voila, it was great! Service was prompt and attentive, although our gal forgot our...More

Yes there are rookies and drunks here, but $5 tables, 2 deck hands also. Slots are like 25% looser than on the strip. It's great once you've had a couple of drinkies.

$3.00 Roulette, fun crowd. Kind of smokey by todays standards. We spent a couple of hours playing roulette and came away $100 up. Had a great time. Fun to see old Vegas. Kitchy décor. Really good 3 piece band playing in the bar.
