We had a group of 4 (50 somethings) visit the Canyon Ranch Fitness and Spa for a first time rock climbing experience. I will focus on this specifically as this truly was a great experience. We had 2 instructors, Mike and Sue who were phenomenal! All 4 of us got to experience this together and cheer each other on. Both instructors were attentive and made sure we were secure for each climb. The instructors were supportive and encouraging. Mike also went the extra mile and helped us get the full Spa amenities as they didn’t offer day passes to the Spa on the weekend- which, by the way, is Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Beware-they do not tell you this on the phone when booking.
So, if you’re looking for a fun, intimate, challenging experience with your friends this is definitely something to try. Mike and Sue are top notch professionals who have years and years of experience.

Canyon Ranch Spa does have the best massage services in Las Vegas, but the Canyon Ranch Spa Gym is made exceptional by the consultants that support this exceptional space. I would like to celebrate and affirm Evette Shuk who cared for and guided me several days through weight training, and rock climbing and massage and self care. She relaunched my accurate fitness training when I returned home. She is incredibly well trained and approachable and encouraging. She helped me to perform at higher levels than I have been able to for half a decade. And all this during a 5 day vacation.
Gyms and spas are nice playgrounds where one can relax, but it is the care of the consultants that will draw you back to Canyon Ranch and change you forever. Evette Shuk is the Best Example I can think of in Las Vegas.

I just returned from a trip to Las Vegas with family and had the opportunity to spend a Thursday afternoon at Canyon Ranch Spa in the Venetian. It was a last minute decision to squeeze in a massage and a body scrub after a long day of travel and hiking the day before, and Pua was kind enough to work me in at a time that fit my family’s schedule. When I arrived, Gregory at the front desk was friendly and attentive and immediately got me checked in. I was then introduced to Marion who brought me on a tour of the extensive facility and helped me get settled in before my treatment. The facilities were immaculate and the environment was serene. The no cell phone policy was a welcomed respit and complete contrast to all the hubbub along Las Vegas Blvd below. I was happy that Pua recommended that I come in 45 min ahead of my appt to get checked in and use some of the amenities in advance of my massage, which I happily did. I spent time rotating between the sauna, steam room, igloo, whirl pool/hot tub and a heavenly room infused with scent to breathe in and put you in a true state of relaxation. About 10 min before my appt time I went down to “conservatory” where I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable Barrett who asked if I needed anything - lemon infused water - yes please! - and told me about the Salt Grotto, a room where salt water mist, imitating sea water, is emitted helping to create yet a next level of relaxation, on the far side of the room. When it was time for my massage and body scrub, Cheyenne came to get me. Cheyenne was one of the most experienced massage therapists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and she really worked on my tired back and neck muscles. She was pleasant and I can honestly say has “magic hands.” The room was equipped with not just a massage table but also a whirl pool tub where I soaked for 20 min in between my body scrub and my massage. While I had heard about Canyon Ranch, I had never experienced it before last Thursday. All I can say is WOW! The experience was truly next level and my only regret is that I didn’t have more time on the back end of my treatments to continue using all the fabulous amenities. It was my first time, but certainly won’t be my last! Thank you Canyon Ranch Las Vegas for a divine experience!

Such a good spa day and most of the amenities were open. The spa is large or should I just say that it has a lot of long hallways. Friendly staff and average prices. I got the Shirodhara treatment, which was relaxing. You are provided access to the gym, but I wasn't really impressed by it. It was also very difficult to find food near the spa because the restaurant was closed

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Canyon Ranch Spa. Will at the front desk was so helpful when booking. My therapist was Rachael, and she did a fantastic job getting all the kinks out of my lower back. My husband said his massage was terrific as well.
I would change a few things, offer more items for couples. Instead of an additional charge for a couples massage, have it be one price. Have an area where couples could lounge by a large spa and experience it together. Even without those things, it was a great experience.

Know before you go! We were not staying at the Venetian and had not been told when we booked that we would need a photo ID to get past security at the elevator to get to the spa , I almost left my wallet as they said to leave valuable , thank goodness I threw it in at the last minute. It is a looooooong walk and multiple looooong hallways to get to the spa so even though we left an hour early to be there early before the appointment , we barely made it on time. It had said clothing optional which was the case in the women’s but they required trunks in the men’s area and hubby didn’t bring them since most men’s spas don’t require. But this is a large spa and bustling, loud and not the calming spa atmosphere were used to from spas. The massage was the worst I’ve had. I’m not sure she knows what she is doing and didn’t really even massage the muscle. Applied oil and did the fast rub and then fingertip tickle thing. Very strange and not therapeutic or relaxing at all. Hubby reports it was just an ‘okay’ massage. The salt room has the few salt bricks that have coming off the wall and just lying on top of the benches. There were so many people in the rooms and sitting talking everywhere it was distracting. Wave room was cold and no sound except people talking, just odd. We both just ended up leaving Unrefreshed and disappointed... and down $600.
They expect payment up front as well as required 5% gratuity and added 15 % which you can adjust, but you haven’t even had your service so you don’t know if you want to leave more for job well done or deduct for the worst treatment you’ve ever had.

The Canyon Ranch Fitness Center at The Venetian/Palazzo is excellent! The facility has an extraordinary selection of weight training, fitness, and cardio equipment. I was able to perform a full powerlifting workout with the equipment available.
The staff is exceptional! They took me on a tour of the facility the day before my scheduled workout. Sue, Evette, and the entire team were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable during every interaction. They are proud of their facility and the services offered.
While the cost is significant, I found the experience worth every penny.

I am a veteran travel professional
with 44 years experience. I thought I would share this as it left me very bewildered and disappointed. I am currently staying at the Venetian for the first time, having been to Vegas numerous times. This resort is the largest in the United States with over 7100 rooms. Today we went to the Canyon Ranch Spa and planned on spending several hours and getting a massage. We were looking forward to all the whirlpools, water features, lounge areas like I have enjoyed at so many resorts on the strip. I was more than a little shocked to find this huge resort has one five person whirlpool in the woman’s area and the same on the men’s side. This was a square block of cement with four chairs by it. Capacity of the whirlpool stated five persons, but it really only fit three. I’ve seen bigger at a Holiday Inn. They also had two rain feature showers, neither of which worked. The “relaxation area” was more like a hotel lobby than a quiet lounge. I spoke to three staff members thinking I was missing something, but unfortunately that was all there was. It is like they left the spa out of the planning process and it was an afterthought. We spoke to a few other guests there who were equally disappointed. So if you are looking for a wonderful spa experience, skip this one and book at Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Wynn, or Caesar’s.

Couples
Me and my housband always enjoy visiting spas around the world together. Every spa we visited have at least a commom little pool, commom spa or jacuzzi for men and women, so we can enjoy together all the time. Canyon Ranch has no water or wet experiences for couples in the amenities, only the relaxation roons or you have to separate and go alone in the female or male jacuzzi. Very disappointing. We visited a lot of spas with the same prices and with a so much better experiences for couples in the commom amenities.

Canyon Ranch Fitness area [large section with climbing wall] was more like a full service gym than a "hotel gym." They have all of the equipment you'd find in a CF box, conventional gym equipment that you'd find in a chain gym, and more than enough cardio equipment to scratch any fitness itch...they do have a rock wall for goodness sake...but the real WOW factor for Canyon Ranch for me is Erica. She brought her hospitality from her home island of Oahu in the State of Hawaii and she was incredibly knowledgable as I struggled to release back muscles that were spasming and locking up.

If you purchase a spa treatment, do you get to access all areas of the spa and fitness facilities, ie climbing wall? And is there any discount for Venetian guests on spa treatments?
animlluvr
Pittsburgh, PA1,561 contributions
If you purchase a spa treatment that is $75 or more you get access to the spa. At least that was the price in Feb 2022. The rates may increase for summer. The rock wall is separate. You have to pay for that. 1 session is like $60 so you don’t get access to the rest of the spa area so you will need to purchase something that is 75 or over to gain access to the spa. And you can’t combine them. So if you get rock climbing and another treatment that costs less than 75 you still don’t qualify for spa access. And, BEWARE full day passes for spa access ($125) can be purchased only M-Th for spa access IF there is availability. You can’t purchase them Fri-Sun. I know if you’re a guest at Venetian you get some sort of benefit-can’t remember what it is.

Arriving at the Venetian on 5/6 for a 5 day stay would you recommend prior reservations at the Canyon ranch spa?
Which pool would you recommend of all 10 Venetian pools for downtime and relaxation and what other amenities are valuable there?

It is difficult to get a walk in service at this spa. I definitely recommend reservations / appointments.
