About
We invite you to experience the Carolina sandhills, tucked away minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, in the historic part of Las Vegas. As you begin your Vegas golf round at Desert Pines Golf Club Las Vegas, you will feel transported from the closed-in casinos and overpowering glitz to a place where you can enjoy the fresh, calming scent of real pine trees. This Dye-designed golf course features over 4,000 mature pine trees lining the fairways with green grass running from tees to pins. White sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens fashioned after those at Augusta National Golf Club. Although there are no forced carries, four lakes will add to the excitement and beauty of your round. Spanning more than 50 hitting stations, the Practice Center is ideal for a pre-round warm-up or a stop to practice your swing. The two-level facility is covered, to protect from rain and sunlight, and features misters during summer months and heaters during the winter for ultimate comfort and enjoyment. Extended hours allow flexibility for golfers, with closing times at 11 p.m. The Snack Bar offers the delicious food served, situated conveniently next to the 10th tee box and within walking distance to the parking lot, the Practice Center provides a chance to perfect your game.

We booked a foursome online to this golf course. The rate was established at time of booking. Upon check-in the Manager on duty informed us that he had made an Arbitrary Decision to raise the rate given it was Super Bowl Weekend. Matters not that we had a confirmation at a lower rate, or the fact no one was at the club, in the parking lot, or in the breakfast room. It was his decision and his decision alone to make. We were shocked at his attitude and decided not to play given the course was not worth the new price some 250% higher than the price quoted when booked. As such we are now entangled in trying to get a refund given our decision not to pay the Arbitrary Price. Management is totally uncooperative, and cannot grasp that not honoring a price for a game that stresses honor deems this a course we will never visit again... and thus the reason for this review and warning to others.

This track. Where do i begin? First, it is slow. Like, GLACIAL PACE slow. Plan on a 5+, probably closer to 6 hour round. The course itself was in pretty good shape, the greens were soft but a bit bumpy due to the extra watering, and it is challenging from the back tees.
BEWARE! So many fairways that run right next to another hole. Balls flying everywhere (which adds to the time issue).
The clubhouse is very nice. Nice selection of brews on tap. Food was good.
I think I would play it again, but only if I was promised that they would have 15 minute tee times!

This was our third visit to this location and it was as consistent as our other visits. The course was in good shape, the staff great and over all a very good golf day. The staff remembered us and that is a great customer service statement. I would highly recommend this course.

I hate giving bad reviews, but.....
I played Desert Pines with a couple of buddies on August 30th, 2012. The staff was courteous, the driving range with the automatic tee'd ball was gimmicky but it did change from the routine.
SInce our hcps ranged from 8 to 18, we decided to play from the 6400 yds middle tees. After a few holes, we started to see a trend..... whatever yardage was written on the scorecard, we would be at least 50 yards short of it. Basically, we played a 5500 yards course. We could of played the "back" tees, but they were just a couple yards back on most holes.
I have to say, this course made us feel like PGA pros, we reached a few par-4 in 1 shot and reached or close to all the par-5s in 2. That also means the guys behind us were doing it to (we almost got onto a scrap with them after a 2nd par-4 where they drove the green while we were putting. This really had the feel of a muni!
This course is nice, if you don't hit your drives over 230. But if you do, I would definitely advise to go elsewhere. If you have to play a Walter's group course, we played Royal Links and it was in great shape and has the feel of a "real" course or try Paiute courses if you're looking for a challenge.
Cheers!

I had never played Desert Pines so figured I would give it a try! I pulled up and checked in early - the pro shop attendant said I could go out whenever I wanted as I'm solo.....I thought fantastic, I never mind that. I got my cart ready and off I went. After the second hole and teamed up with another solo. It was a good day but something about the course just didn't turn me on - It was well manicured etc., but the course sure seemed really short with tight fairways for the most part. I guess it seems like it was crunched in the area they had????? We finished really quickly which was due to two things...1. The course was not busy whatsoever which was weird cause all the other courses I played were packed - so maybe that says something about this course as to why it is not busy 2. It is a short course/ I am glad I gave it a try but probably would not return if I have other choices to play.

5 1/2 hour round, absurd, when we called to complain and suggest that someone come out to speed up pace of play, no action. we could see open holes ahead. on top of that, our cart died and we had to wait for them to come and replace or fix. When complained after round they said would do something to make it right, but did nothing. Course conditions marginal at best, played 2 other courses on same trip in better shape and better experience. this was on a weekday as well. suggest looking at and playing elsewhere

Like many others, I go straight to the negative reviews, but DISCARD all of them.
We golfed on Friday, 24 April. $240 for an all inclusive food (minus liquor), golf, practice balls, club rental, two sleeves of balls and a golf glove.
First thing, arrival from taxi we were greeted friendly, a staff member showed us the facility, we checked in, they had golf carts set up for us.
Great breakfast, lunch and dinner menu! Inclusive means just that, we certainly are our share of food and drank plenty of powerade and water (from a long night before). I never felt the staff was "put off" by all inclusive requests.
Staff: Every staff member was nice, friendly, professional and willing to take the extra step to provide service.
First class place and worth EVERY penny!

From the moment we contacted this club we had a great experience. We are in Las Vegas for business and stayed over for the weekend. Had no clubs or car. We found Desert Pines and it was a $30 cab ride from the Vdara hotel where we are staying. Get the inclusive package and you get food included. We had a good breakfast and then a tuna sandwich at the 9th hole and finished up with a late lunch that will serve as our dinner and all were included in our package price
Very reasonable. Only extra was our adult beverages. The course has very narrow fairways and lots of water but kept in really good condition . Everyone helped us were friendly and made sure we were satisfied. Try it if you are in Vegas

We called and asked if we could play 5 before booking our tee time for a vacation. They said it was okay. When we got here they said they wouldn't let us, and that we had to split up. Then wouldn't let us get money back after they lied about playing 5some.
