First let me say I am petrified of heights. I dragged my friend down to sky jump determined to conquer my fear. The staff was amazing. I was so nervous and they answered all my questions, even while I was on the plarform. Safety checks were performed 4 times by 4 different staff members. The hardest part was holding onto the edge of a very small platform while waiting for your countdown to jump. Once they say go, let go of your hands and the cable safely pulls you out from the ledge and the descent begins. You feel the tension from the cable immediately and the fall was so controlled. I never felt out of control or unsafe. I went from extreme fear to exhilaration in 2 seconds. I would do it again.

I've been to Vegas a couple of times and always regretted not doing an excursion at the Strat. This time I promised my niece that I would do a thrill ride and she chose the SkyJump. We got our tickets for $50 for doing a timeshare tour (totally different review) and it was kind of worth it because we saved a lot of money per person. We had free parking at the hotel and check-in for the ride was easy. The staff was great. Let me repeat, the staff was great. They had wonderful energy, were serious about safety and explained the entire process to us. What to expect? You must sign your life away. For real, they don't cover anything if you die. You can choose the photo package that comes with a GoPro. You'll want to purchase this so that if you pass out during the jump, you'll have proof that you actually did it. You're not allowed to wear jewelry or have anything in your pockets. They will give you a suit, put it on with the zip facing your back. You'll be zipped up and you'll go to a waiting area. Then you will be harnessed. After that you will be weighed and then they will take you to the elevator that takes you to the jump area. Pro tip: If you are afraid of heights, close your eyes while the elevator is going up. Pay no attention to the numbers. Just know you're high up in the sky. Once you get off the elevator, you will be taken to the waiting area. Do not look out of the window. If you do, don't look down. Never ever look down. Once you're allowed into the launch area, don't look outside and if you do look outside, don't look down. Two people will do a safety check on you before you are allowed on the platform. A lot of what happened after this is a blur to me. I chickened out on my first attempt and received a second chance card that I used the next day. I remember being hooked up to the bungee cord, being raised a little and then free falling. I think I passed out during the process because from the recording my family did, I screamed all the way down. The staff was so awesome in they way they greeted me after my jump. They were so excited and I got a few high fives. I wouldn't do this excursion again, but I am so happy I experienced it once in my life.

I first witnessed what I thought was a suicide jump, heading to Freemont Street one night, and then realized it was thrill ride. That was 10 years ago. Then about 3yrs ago I tried to make a reservation, but it did not work into my schedule. Finally this trip it all came together. The staff was great, they went way above and beyond safety precaution, checking, double and triple checking your harness. I had made my first tandem skydive the month before and did not get this much attention. Once on the platform, the view is a bit intimidating, but when your standing on the edge, and they make the countdown, do not hesitate, just bail off. Unlike skydiving, you have almost instant resistance and full confidence in the fall and can totally enjoy the view and the ride. If you just want a taste and feel of a skydive, this is sort of it, without the major rush. But otherwise no comparison. Would I do it again, heck yeah.

We took our teen boys to do the jump and they loved it after getting over the sheer terror of jumping off the building, We booked online and had a good experience all the way around. Parking at the Strat is free and from there you check in at the Sky Jump store. They got the boys suited up quickly and took them up. They call out their names so the people waiting inside know when to go out and see them jump. We did it in the last time slot (9-10) and views of the town all lit up were great.

Extremely disappointed. The other rides are more scary than the SkyJump. If you are a thrillseeker, have done skydiving, bungee jumping, or any sort of amusement park, this ride doesn't really do much in terms of adrenaline. I also purchased a video and photo package, which they don't show you on-site. So imagine my disappointment upon opening my USB drive that there were no GoPro videos in what should have been included with my purchase. After trying to call the Stratosphere, it took me 3 re-routes to get to a SkyJump representative.
