We attended the 1000th performance of the Vegas version of the Lion King and while some of the less positive reviews may be accurate, this performance was energetic. Yes, it slows in some scenes, but the story has to build to the finale. Great dance performances by the ensemble. Main characters were very good. Would recommend stopping in before show ends.

The Lion King is a magnificent theatrical breathtaking show and it's great for all ages. The tickets are a bit pricey but it's worth it.

Not because the show itself isn't great, but because Ticketmaster and Mandalay Bay are crooks. We were scheduled to fly to Vegas from NJ the day before the show. Because of Hurricane Irene, our flight was canceled and we weren't able to get another flight out for 4 days. We had to cancel our trip. Our hotel and all of the other activities that we had planned we very graciously refunded to us, even with customer service people leaving us with a "Stay safe and I hope you make it through the storm OK". Mandalay Bay and Ticketmaster, on the other hand, are the worst businesses I've ever encountered. We bought 14 tickets for 3 families, totaling over $1100. Both Ticketmaster and Mandalay Bay told us that under no circumstances would our $ would be refunded. The Ticketmaster "supervisor" that I spoke to was nothing more than rude and incompetent!! When I asked if we could at least get a credit to see the show another time, her response was "We don't do that". When I asked who I needed to speak to in order to authorize a refund, her response was "I don't have that information". Both Ticketmaster and Mandalay Bay kept pointing the finger back at each other telling me I needed to call the other one in order to get approval to get a refund because these were extreme circumstances, yet neither one would refund my $. We had 8 kids going to this show who were heartbroken that their vacation was canceled. In the wake of Irene, thousands are still without power 4 days after the storm, homes have been washed away, people are flooded out, beaches have been destroyed and rescuers have died in our area. It's unimaginable to me that these greedy jerks are worried more about their $ than anything else. Their business practices are appalling. They disgust me and I will never step foot in Mandalay Bay or purchase another ticket from Ticketmaster again. Please don't support these businesses!

Big production, but too long and really slow story. Kids playing the younger role did a great job. We lost interest and my wife even fell asleep.

What a terrible way to waste $120+. The midgets are exploited, nobody can sing in tune, the costumes look like they were made for a 3rd grade play. Yelling passing for scripted lines, fart jokes and paper mache are the huge production values. Please do not buy into the hype and save yourself. Please be warned it is in two acts, so just when you think this horrid excuse for a musical is over you get another dose of toxic acting and "singing".

Great costumes and very talented boy playing young Simba.
We were in Section B Row E which is right at stage eye-level and were outstanding seats. I advise against setting any closer than row C as you would end up having to look up at the stage, E-G would be the best rows possible.
I think we all know the story. It was a well done -production but I was not blown away by it. The prices at the concessions are ridiculous- bring your own drink. 1 Paid $10 for a coffee and a small popcorn.
WARNING: There is an intermission- head immediately past the closest bathrooms and go across the casino towards the restaurant area if you must go. The lines at the restrooms right next to the theater were terrible, especially for the ladies.

This is a half-inspired production with way too many saccharin-filled, contrived "feel-good" moments and the acting was pretty bad.
