About
The Mirage Volcano in front of Las Vegas’ MGM Mirage has been wowing travelers for over 30 years. The volcano erupts in a nightly fiery display against a background of dancing water jets—complete with a pulsating soundtrack and a kaleidoscopic light show. It actually emits heat to mimic an actual eruption. The show draws a sizeable crowd each time so it's recommended to get there early to snag a good viewing spot.
Catch the show on a night tour of the city in a cute pink jeep, or enjoy an aerial view from a helicopter.

GREAT SHOW! Great entertainment. Good Choreographed music/lighting/gas. Evening showing drew a nice size crowd everyone seamed to really enjoy the show. Volcano is scheduled to be demolished soon.

Some visitors may consider this nearly 35 year-old attraction lame or passe, but my wife & I found great enjoyment in the anticipation of the eruption as well as in the show. Good musical accompaniment, colorful lighting, intense fire spouts, and beautiful faux lava eruptions make the free show a hit with adults & kids alike. Get there early for a good viewing spot, and enjoy an 'ancient' Las Vegas Strip tradition.

The most iconic free show in Las Vegas since 1989. Arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the earlier shows if you want to be on the fence otherwise there will be layers of spectators. Showtimes are 8p, 9p, 10p and 11p.
The spectacular production lasts about 5 minutes and you can even feel the heat from the volcano from across the water. I know that Vegas recreates itself to stay fresh and new but it’s going to sting a little when this quintessential landmark is no more.

Came here to see the volcano erupt and erupt it did. Make sure you get there early as gets extremely busy to the point were people pushing you ton get to the front. We were at the front and what an experienece. You feel the heat you see the volcano erupting with lava spitting everywhere to the sounds of music. Lasts about 10 to 15 minutes. Even little ducks come along for a feed before hand. The waterfall on the front of the mirage just a bit past the volcano is lovely. Defo worth a visit. Just beware of people pushing in. Was good to see.

It's so sad we may be losing the iconic Mirage Volcano when the Hard Rock comes in and builds their guitar shaped hotel. If we do, it will be yet another tragic loss in the growing list of lose in Las Vegas history. So much fun to watch this show and feel the heat and the creativity of the original designers at work. It's fun to listen for the build up to the volcano as the jungle comes alive with the sounds of the water animals as they anticipate the coming volcano.

One our third trip to Las Vegas we knew that we must make the pilgrimage down the stop to finally see the mirage Volcano before it’s allegedly ceases to be.
We were not disappointed.
We had always loved visiting the mirage during the day, but had not gone during the evening due to the distance.
We arrived early and manage to secure a prime spot next to a smelly litter bin, but were not deterred.
The show was AMAZING! The light and sound specular was breathtaking, but what we were not prepared for was the HEAT! Wow, talk about part of the experience!
We are so glad we managed to see this, and will be sad if this piece of showmanship leaves the strip as it certainly stands up against the Bellagio fountains easily.

We stayed at the Mirage and it was manic the pace never stops, the volcano was absolutely brilliant it was jaw dropping really enjoyed it. It erupts every hour from 7pm. If you really want to see it I suggest you get a move on because The Mirage is now owned by Hard Rock Cafe who are going for a total refurbishment and tearing down the volcano to make a huge guitar frontage. It’s a shame because it was brilliant I’ve never seen anything like it before, highly recommended.

Just by chance on the first night we ventured to Walgreens which was across the road from the volcano. People started crowding and we followed. Boom the volcano come to life, it was pretty impressive and a shame they plan on removing it. The ankle biter thought it was awesome and it draws quite a crowd. I'd recommend being on the Walgreens side of the strip to watch it as you'd get a better view.

This is one of the rare free things in Vegas and is actually quite good. It is quite unique also since I have not seen anything like this anywhere else unlike the Bellagio fountain which is now copied in multiple cities. The show happens for 4 minute every hour from 7 PM to 11 PM

We stopped to watch the Volcano eruption on the strip in front of the Mirage. It is a fun event complete with a musical buildup to the eventual “eruption.”
There was a big crowd gathered to watch the event that dispersed quickly when the show was over.
The price is right (free) and this show is part of the spectacle that is Las Vegas.

Hi you can have a quick goole for the times as they change depending on the time of year. I think the last one is about 10.30 pm off peak, they do more shows at the weekend.

I went back and checked my video that was on from just prior to start through until just after it finished. The show was just under 5 minutes. watch from behind the volcano on the hotel side and there will be minimal crowds as compared to the masses on the street side.

Hola.
