About
Located in downtown Las Vegas, this pedestrian mall spreads over five blocks along Fremont Street. Home to many casinos and hotels—including Golden Gate Hotel and Casino and Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel—it's also known for jaw-dropping shows and fun activities, from free concerts to the 12-story SlotZilla Zipline.
Come just before evening to catch Viva Vision, a light and sound show that takes place on the world’s largest video screen—an LED canopy that spans 130,000 square feet. To make sure you don't miss any of the highlights, there's a variety of day and night walking tours available.

- andrew hHemel Hempstead, United Kingdom204 contributionsGreat music and great barsReally entertaining and nice location, bar and restaurant were good value. The entertainment was very good (Live bands). The casinos have lower stake requirements and were busy and good fun. Definitely worth a few hours visit. People watching is really interesting too !Visited December 2022Written December 12, 2022
- BlkTrailblazerGarden City, Alabama29 contributionsA staple of visiting VegasPeople always talking about the Las Vegas Strip this, Las Vegas Strip that but personally, I think Downtown Las Vegas especially Fremont Street is the way to go. You get the same type of environment, same type of enjoyment, and the same type of fun at a much lower cost. You can spend an entire weekend on Fremont Street and still not experienced everything. The stores, the restaurants, the entertainment, and especially the people. If you’re looking to go to Vegas, to have a good time, and not get caught up in “Las Vegas Strip” bubble, Downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street) is the place to be. The Fremont Street Experience (especially on the weekends) is something you’re definitely not going to soon forget!!Visited December 2022Written December 14, 2022
- Caroline4242014Glen Allen, Virginia101 contributionsA heck of an experience!OMG! This place is awesome. When I say I was like a child because it is so much going on. Live bands, bars set up, people painting on canvas, vendors selling everything. And I mean everything, Entertainers doing their own thing. Tony Roma's restaurtant was to die for. The meal was great and the price was even better. I cant say enough about the light show that is simply amazing . This is an expe sarience you have to see. You come away saying I've got to go back tomorrow and the good part about it is It's free. You pay nothing to experience this. They always have more than more than one band too. I would recommend this to any and everyone.Visited October 2022Written December 15, 2022
- Tony TBrownsville, Texas1,934 contributionsLoud parties on the cheap!!!Downtown Vegas... some of the original Casino haunts that legends are made of... one can walk down Fremont street and recognize some infamous casinos that line this strip. The city has managed to preserve this street by placing a ceiling over the entire mini strip that lights up in animation videos! Under the canopy, you can find nightly concerts in the center of the strip that brings the folks out of the casinos to listen to the jams and booze away on the street. This strip is lined with lower limit tables, perfect for coming out here to learn your table game, some of which start at $5 and even a few that start at $1!!! There are a lot of street performers out here trying to scrape up a buck. Some of these street "performers" are vagabonds that pull their trash together to make an outfit or a show out of for your entertainment. Its worth a gander to check out the street freaks pull an act together! Just make sure you check your judgement at the door because it could get pretty raunchy ;)Visited December 2022Traveled with friendsWritten December 20, 2022
- Jim Bennett36 contributionsLights, action, glitterIf you want to experience the Vegas nightlife, Freidmont will give you lots of entertainment. There are different genre bands playing great music at opposite ends of the place. Lots of crazy light shows, shops, bars, models for men and women to take photos with for a fee.Visited December 2022Traveled with friendsWritten December 23, 2022
- Sam G3 contributionsBest area for drinks and free fun with concerts and street performersThe Freemont experience was awesome! I can't wait to come back. I ate at the 4 Queens and the prime rib was fantastic. I don't remember the casino across the street but I played black jack there and had a wonderful and profitable time.Visited December 2022Written December 28, 2022
- Yvette Doyle22 contributionsFree entertainment in Vegas not to be missedExcellent free entertainment. Go in the evening to see the light show every hour and to see the old vegas. Golden Nugget casino is great for fun gambling. Zip line is well worth doing for 50 dollars if you want a thrill treat.Visited January 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 5, 2023
- Scotty16 contributionsRock out on Fremont St.Our first trip to Vegas found us on the strip, but one night on Fremont Street. We fell in love with the music and energy and came back for more. The light show is tremendous, and the bands Spandex Nation (glam metal and more), and Alter Ego (Hard Rock) are why we spend money and time here. We were surprised to find a prime ribber dinner for 9 bucks at Tony Romas, and it was very good. We stayed at the Golden Nugget, which was good, and we ate breakfast at Magnoias each morning, and it was cheap but good. We'll go back, and mostly for the energy/music on Fremont.Visited January 2023Written January 6, 2023
- surfercharlieGlendive, Montana868 contributionsAlways a fun time, but less so nowFremont. Everyone loves it (almost) including me. It is wild, crazy, inappropriate, and unique. There is just no other place like it on the planet. The street performers, shops, eateries, hotels, casinos, and everything else is just fantastic. I do not really get the 4 block long overhead screen. Kind of dumb to me, but whatever. It helps to make Fremont unique. This was our first trip with security and metal detectors in place, and in my opinion, it took a lot away from the experience. I understand that things have happened in the area and in the FSE area, but the security and metal detectors are an over the top reaction and detract from the experience. But its still really, really fun.Visited August 2022Written January 9, 2023
- Kim ESioux Falls, South Dakota41 contributionsAwesome but Take Earplugs!Fremont Street was fun! There is a large half dome over the whole block with 4 zip lines at the top, so people are always zipping overhead. The whole Fremont experience was awesome….except, for me, the continuous music was TOO loud! If you go, take some sort of ear plugs.Visited December 2022Traveled with familyWritten January 10, 2023

This is a very busy place to be. Downtown Las Vegas. The canopy of lights is so bright that even in the day you can see it well. At night, especially Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, it gets extremely busy. If you are going to Las Vegas, this is a must-see. All of the old casinos with the neon lights is a step back in time. Then you add the millions of modern LED lights that play video and music above you, and it is pure entertainment. They have bands that play on a stage at night, and there are a lot of people dressed up trying to get you to pay them $2 to take your picture with them. Also street performers looking for a few bucks. But you have to see it!

You can get from the strip to Freemont street by bus either the "duece" or "sdx" and it'll cost you $8 for 24hrs. Lots to see and do. Street performers drumming on 5 gallon pails, rolling roses out of reeds you name it it's happening. 3 different stages with dj's live music, it's a none stop party in the evening. Casino's along Freemont were very busy with a lot of action. Didn't feel threatened at all although getting there it seems a little skeatchy. You'll need a full evening to experience it all.

Download the Lyft app on your phone and it will cost you about $10 to get there. Really a different expereience from the Strip. Home of the Golden Nugget and Four Queens to mention a few. Over 12 million LED lights in the overhead canopy with different images happening all the time! Free entertainment all over the place and the people watching is second to none!

We visited here as part of our day using the Deuce bus, $8 a person for 24hrs a great way to get about the strip.
For me I felt that in comparison to the south end of the strip Fremont area felt run down, with more dodgy characters around.
The digital ceiling is cool but not really enough to keep us in the area for more than 30 mins. There is a zip wire there which is fun too watch along with a few street artists.
Personally I preferred the area by the Linq which also has a zip wire, and street artists .
Worth a visit to see what down town Las Vegas looks like!

Downtown Vegas has come an incredibly long way from where it was 20 years ago. The Freemont Street Experience is a sight to behold with the Canopy and the mass of people there on a nightly basis. The best part of it is on most nights, there are 3 - 5 bands playing fantastic music to suit most tastes and it's all free. Get your drinks at the outside bars instead of the casinos. It's usually cheaper, though you can get cheap beers at Binions. Plenty of casinos for gambling are bunched together and more affordable than on the strip. Don't let a trip to Vegas end without going downtown.

One of the best Vegas experiences. Easy to get to via The Deuce. Always seems to have great entrainment on stage, lots of people, great sound and the multi-media experience on the roof is amazing. While ads promote cheaper drinks than on the Strip that’s not something I observed but neither are they more expensive.

I was so excited to see the world’s largest arch screen ceiling, I was definitely amazed by how long and how high definition it is !!
The screen covers the whole street, there are stages along the way, the two at both ends have singers performing, atmosphere is excellent, the street is super busy, filled with all kinds of artists as well as some half naked girls...
We took a walk there while we were waiting for our table at the Rock Pizza around the corner.
This area looks much older than the Las Vegas Blvd for sure, but it is an interesting experience, and as they said, “ drinks are not only allowed but also encouraged” on this street!
Pizza was good, but not cheap... a regular size one cost over $20, FYI.
You should at least go see the cool screen if you are visiting Vegas !

The overhead show was awesome. Some of the entertainment is pretty good and some of the entertainers are rude. Be aware the show girls and most photo opportunities will cost $20 per person to take picture. Not worth it in my opinion. Overall an amazing place. The neon and lights take you back to another time.

My friends and I visited Fremont Street on a Saturday night during a NASCAR and boxing match weekend. My friend wanted to see Brett Michaels. You have to enter metal detectors to get to see the performers otherwise you are walking around the stage and you have to keep moving. There is a screen to see the performers and they also intermittently put the performer on the canopy over the street.
We bought beer and mixed drinks with ease from the outside bar. Getting into the neighboring casinos can be a little tricky if there are a lot of people to use the restrooms. We also enjoyed the many street performers. There are also a few dispensaries in on Fremont Street and lots of places to eat. Special events parking was $20. This is a good place to hang if you don’t want to walk the main strip.

I will be headed there August 19-21 with a 17 year old. I have heard there’s a curfew from 9pm is this correct? And if there is and we can’t be on Freemont is it safe to walk down Carson Ave to get to Neonopolis from Golden Nugget at night

They wouldn't let me include a link to the official website that will answer your question. Long story short, yes there is a curfew downtown for under 18. 10 PM to 5 Am Sunday thru Thurs, and 12AM to 5AM FRI and Sat.
In my opinion downtown is safe, but there are some sketchy people around that might make him feel uncomfortable. If you're with him, there is safety in numbers and the curfew doesn't apply because he is with a parent. Win-win

Once you get there you should be good. The only problem is getting there. Uber and Lyft are very busy between the hours of 6pm-3a.
