Shalimar was seriously perfect. Amazing, affordable pricing that included a limo, photographer, bouquet and boutonnière and a minister. It is a beautiful venue, wonderful customer service and the vows were absolutely beautiful for a quick ceremony. The Mexican restaurant in shalimar is delicious, my now husband is a chef and knows his food and that restaurant is a hidden gem. The minister, photographer and limo driver all work on tips as well but honestly, with the service and how cheap the package was itself, we didn’t mind one bit. If you’re looking for a beautiful and simple venue for your Vegas wedding, definitely book this one.

My eldest daughter was married here. She picked the package she wanted and Shalimar really delivered. The limo driver was also her pastor. He was really nice as driver and asked her and her fiancé their requests and needs. I called myself as we came as a surprise the rules and whether they had the extra room for more quests. He was very helpful and even emailed back and forth to make we got all the information needed to get to the ceremony. Their ceremony was really nice and they said it was perfect. Their photographer did a great job of taking multiple views and my daughter got a cd and video. The pastor also started their paperwork so it will get filed correctly with my daughter to fill out a few days later. I recommend this chapel for a vegas wedding. Please remember to tip for their excellent service.

My most memorable day of my life becoming one with my husband was breathtaking with Shalimar wedding chapel. Vern our limo driver was so gracious made me feel like a princess. Joe our photographer was so professional and ensured our photos would be memories that will last our lifetime. The ceremony was passionate and the minister's words were heartwarming... Shalimar made it my fairytale.

We had the best wedding ever. We got picked up from our hotel in a limo, we got a ride down the strip!! It was so cool!! We got to the chapel and the owner and marriage officiant we so kind and willing to go the extra mile for us. They actually gave us a cd of our wedding to take home as a gift! I am so grateful we chose this chapel. I plan to go back in 10 years and renew our vows there.

We are so disappointed for making the worst choice possible by selecting the Shalimar wedding chapel for our wedding in Las Vegas. The Shalimar was a disaster! We have nothing good to say about this place and their staff; we wish we could give them a Zero Star.
The limo was dirty, late, and the driver did not care to put a tie on or better yet dress professionally (You must give a minimum of $40.00 to the driver for his poor service).
The location was an old dumpy place in the downtown area inside the Howard Johnson Inn which was never disclosed on their website! The Ho Jo is surrounded by nude striper clubs, prostitutes, and homeless people! This is the truth! Our guests arrived and said wow I hope this wedding was free due to the location! This was very embarrassing, especially if you have young children or affluent people in your wedding party.
The pool is attached to the building, so you might see hotel guests walking around with their wet swimming suits while your wedding party is there.
The Wedding coordinator was nowhere to be found upon arrival, they had to pull him out of the bar where he was flirting with a woman, and we are pretty sure he was drunk (he sure didn't smell like Sprite), The Wedding Coordinator was rude and not professional at all, the office also smelled like bad food.
The flower Bouquet looked horrible; my 5 year old daughter could have easily done a better job with 3 roses.
The photographer was a nightmare... We did not care for her, she could not even speak proper English and was dressed very scandalous and was extremely confused, she had to be excused two times before taking photos and had no idea how to pose us or even use her camera, and we laughed at her pathetic skill actually more than a few times. Dear Lord did they hire a prostitute off the street? My bride asked me that a few times and so did our guests; we were very sad knowing that the photographs would be even worse than she was...
The minister was not dressed professionally, and my mother said that she could not believe that he was actually texting while doing the ceremony! The ceremony was very short, and very unorganized, and we did not get to say our own vows. Even when we were told that the minister will ask us after his own ceremony, the only think he cared about was his $75.00, which he sort of demanded at the end (this was a push tactic for a large "mandatory" $75 tip that we did NOT appreciate...
The Web cam was freezing constantly and had no Audio during our ceremony, which our guests online were texting us and complaining about! When we complained they said it was not a guaranteed service...
When we got home and reviewed our DVD and our photos I must say that we were even more disappointed, the "Professional DVD" had the worst quality, and all the photos were awful! We were supposed to get thirty different poses but there were only three different poses on the CD with thirty different camera angles!!! WOOOOOW that made us both so angry, we decided to come online, and share our disaster experience with everyone else, so they don't have their wedding ruined by the Shalimar Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas!
We are very disappointed and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone! Unless you hate weddings and you want the worst possible wedding you could EVER have! The Shalimar Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas was truly the lowest of the low experience in both of our professional lives!

Hello,
I wanted to let you know that we were very happy with the service we
received at Shalimar Wedding Chapel for our special day. There are so many different
chapels in Vegas to pick from but you guys really stood out. I would really
recommend your chapel to everyone. The whole package, the ceremony, outdoor
gazebo experience, pastor, and great photographer took all the stress from
ensuring a great experience. Again thank you!!!!

Our wedding was 8/19/14. Shalimar was the perfect place for our wedding! I was nervous about booking a chapel online without seeing it in person, being from the east coast. I spent hours online researching chapels. I finally narrowed it down to three. It was all about the pictures and the type of ceremony. We wanted a religous type ceremony in a chapel that looked like a little church. I wanted my family to be able to take pictures during the wedding and a lot of places don't allow that. Joey from Shalimar was awesome right from the first phone call I made there. He answered all of my questions and worked with us on whatever we wanted. The chapel was beautifully decorated. Rev Hamilton performed a wonderful ceremony. We wouldn't change a thing about our wedding day. Everything was perfect! If you are looking for a Vegas wedding, call Joey at Shalimar!

We waited til we got to Vegas to book a wedding. I had carried out tonnes of research in the months leading up to it and Shalimar was on my shortlist.
Most of the non hotel chapels are located downtown , including Shalimar.
Our personal opinion was that this area is not as clean and happy feeling or looking as the main strip, and we therefore decided that it was going to be a Sign Wedding.(The sign being opposite end of the strip to downtown)
Our plan was to be a self made simple day - sign wedding followed by Eiffel tower and romantic meal in Paris, a gondola ride in Venice and a strip helicopter flight in the dark.
I contacted Shalimar to enquire about the $99 Sign Wedding package where they meet you there and you get a photo cd with 25 photos.
I dealt with Joe, who i found to be friendly pleasant and very helpful.
Joe was able to fit us in at short notice for a few days time. I had booked a salon at the hotel opposite ours for my hair , Joe informed me that they used a mobile stylist who could come to my room and was very much cheaper than the salon. This option was very appealing to me and more convenient as you cant just "pop next door" quickly in Vegas, so i booked the stylist too. We had issues with our helicopter booking as Obama was in town and the company we had booked with - Maverick Helicopters, called me back to advise they couldn't do it for the wedding day - The helicopter was rearranged for a day earlier and I called Joe who was more than accommodating and swapped our wedding slot and re arranged the stylist booking.
We ventured to the chapel later that day so that we could pay in cash. The Shalimar is located downtown just inside the Howard Johnson Hotel. The chapel doors were open for us to see inside and the chapel itself was small but very pleasant and clean and just like the pictures on the website.
We met Joe, who was again very friendly and helpful, and we left the chapel with our wedding paid for , stylist booked and had purchased a bouquet and boutineer which Joe was to bring with him to the sign. They had ready made samples in the fridge which were very pretty red roses with little white flower fillers tied with a satin ribbon.
Joe confirmed our minister would be Rev Jim Hamilton, and he had even made a few calls to try and confirm the air closure issues for us, as since re arranging the date with him , our helicopter had been cancelled and moved again to the day after the wedding!! We left with a number for Leila at 5 star helicopters.
As far as the helicopter was concerned Obama had definitely closed the air space down as was in town on business, so we couldn't coincide with our wedding day. But 5 star were able to fit us in the day before the wedding. The flight is a little longer than Mavericks due to 5 Star being located in Boulder City therefore further away from the strip, there was a free pick up and drop off and they were able to beat mavericks price by $10. So we booked with them and cancelled with Maverick.
The day of the wedding the hair stylist arrived as arranged on time with her case of hair styling essentials and was a lovely young woman. She did my hair beautifully and was very professional.
My husband to be unfortunately locked the rings in the safe and blocked the pin with 25 minutes to go - we were going to be late as had to wait for a locksmith- i called the Shalimar in a panic but Joe was obviously not there. I left a message with another member of staff to let Joe know we would be there as soon as!!
We managed to get the rings and race to a cab and made it to the sign 5 minutes late where Joe and the reverend were waiting very relaxed with no issue. Joe was aware of our little problem with the safe! as the message had been relayed to him :-)
We proceeded to the sign and commenced the ceremony. There was another wedding on the opposite side of the sign being conducted by Elvis! Fab! so we got a bit of elvis song for free! :-) . There were also people queing in front of the sign and a man would take photos of them with their cameras for a tip. We didnt mind any of this though, its all part of the experience!
Joe was the photographer and the witness. Joe took pictures throughout the ceremony and some posed pictures after the ceremony. Joe was concerned about the people and Elvis in the background and made sure we knew that this could be seen in the background which was very good of him. At one point Joe asked the photo tip man to wait so we could have a clear picture too. Like i said before though, we didn't mind as it captures the essence of Vegas. But as for Joe he was very professional.
I was already fully aware of the expected tipping from my thorough research, the reverend graciously handed us a blank envelope after the ceremony to which we placed money. I then asked Joe if we should tip him now or when we collect photos , to which i was advised its generally done now, I did not find this part of the ceremony at all pushy or greedy in fact both gents were very gracious. For the record we tipped both more than the stated minimum amount by our own choice.
I questioned Joe on the photos before he left and he explained that they would come with a copyright release on the cd and they we could download to a laptop or get developed at any of the Walgreen stores on the strip. He explained that he would not be at the office the next day as it was his day off but they would be ready for us to collect.
We arrived back at Shalimar the next day to collect the CD. The member of staff dealing with us checked the computer and advised us that Joe had put the pics in for developing , he asked us to wait while he went to collect them. Shortly after he came back with a pack of 6x4 photos and the CD. Joe had got all our photos developed for us which was exceptionally kind and thoughtful of him as this was not included in the package.
We were very pleased with the photos , they were bright and extremely colorful, some action photos and some posed photos.
We have since sent Joe a thank you postcard from our country as we were not able to personally thank him. He went the extra mile and i have no complaints whatsoever with our dealings with him and Shalimar.

My husband and I were married at the Shalimar chapel on may 3rd 2013. I have to say it was the most beautiful wedding I could imagine. Our wedding director Eman went above and beyond to make this experience the best it could be. Our pictures turned out gorgeous and he made the process so painless and the wedding package was unbeatable. We couldn't be happier with our decision to marry in the Shalimar chapel. I will be recommending this chapel as well as Eman as a wedding director to family and friends. Thank you for the most amazing wedding experience anybody could ask for!

Hi , well the website says $50 and up, we gave $70 each to the minister and the photographer who was also the wedding guy that we arranged the wedding flowers and hairstylist with. I believe that ministers work for tips only. You should give based on the service you receive ideally. Personally from day 1 we have a great experience , dealt with Joe at the shalimar, so we were more than happy to pay above the stated minimum. However we only had a $99 dollar sign wedding package with $50 flowers, so it wasnt much of a bother, but if youre having something more expensive with extras and the transport on top etc the tips can seem to top it all up!! so allow for extra cost. good luck!!
