Lake Tahoe is probably among the best in the nation to visit or live. The Nevada State Park has Sand Harbor for wonderful venues (including the Shakespeare and Broadway festivals) a great beach at Sand Harbor and also secluded beaches needing a hike down.....but more than worth the hike. "Your vacation is my home". Come and visit.

We had planned to stop in at Lake Tahoe State Park beach for a quick visit and picnic lunch. I am being upfront about the fact that we did not actually visit the park, we attempted to do so and there were a few things I wish I could have found out while researching this trip, so I will share... See my review of Sand Harbor. This is a beautiful state park with lots to do. One of the best attractions in the area. Get there early, though. It cost $12 a car to get in.

Picnicked here while staying in Sparks, NV. About a hour drive from Reno. Some of the most beautiful lake and forest scenery you will ever see. Picnicking with the Tamil here is a no brainer.

Great place to visit in the area. Lots of things to do and the lake is very pretty. Can kill a day and it is not expensive at all.

The trip up in the gondolas $50 per person is well worth a family entire day. The views on the way up and park way at the top was amazing. There is enough to do to stay all day

A group of us were attending a conference in Reno and decided to rent a car and take a couple hours for ourselves to check out Lake Tahoe. It took us about an hour to get there and the scenic drive did not disappoint. We then found a free public beach called Hidden Beach that was quiet and had stunning... More

There is so much beauty along this shoreline. The views are constant. You just want to take it all in. The state park is made up of multiple areas to explore and enjoy. We took advantage of Sand Harbor and did not regret it. Other areas like Cave Rock and Spooner look to be great too. Hope to see them... More

We got here in the early afternoon on a hot day, so parking was scarce. Beach access was difficult, but Lake Tahoe is a beautiful site.

We've been to Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park Numerous times. I love the views of the lake from the Nevada side of the lake. We've done some fishing. We've also done some hiking. Its a gorgeous place to be.
