For such a large dirt track, it sure is poorly run. I've been to smaller tracks in California and Oregon and this is the worst despite having the fastest speeds.

The big problem is the operators know nothing about dust control. This area is already windy, but throw in a track dry as a bone and you are guaranteed to have clouds of dust and grit in your eyes. Just terrible.

What makes it even more egregious is one time this year it rained and soaked the track. They waited it out and when they started it up again, lo and behold, cars were turning in record times without slipping or coating the fans in dust. But did they learn? Of course not.

The other big issue is no real restrooms, just some filthy unlit porta-potties. A year or two ago they were promising to build some bathrooms, but never did.

Perhaps the biggest problem, though, is the number of cars drop every year. The cheapest class, Pure Stock Minis, rarely runs because of a lack of drivers. This last race saw only two Mod Minis show up.

So I'm not sure if it is just a dying track or a dying sport, but each year it gets harder and harder to justify driving out there.

If there is one good thing, it is the concession stand. It's one of the few that don't gouge the customer. Of course, your Nacho's will get dusty.

The noise is to be expected with a racing venue like this. But this is racing on the cheap. Lots of dust (the wind blows here almost constantly), the amenities are minimal, and the clientele can be, well, raucous. Fine if you're in the area and have $ and time to burn. Otherwise, give it a miss.

This racing track is way out in the desert. I stopped here while I was driving around exploring, a bit shocked to find a track out in the middle of nowhere.

It's not pretty and it's not interesting, but they do have races here and it is a place for this desert community.

Not especially as it is way out in the desert without much scenery around. It is dusty and it can be hot. But it functions OK as a speedway.

We had a nice evening out at the races. The energy was good and the crowd was fun. Some of the seating was in need of repair.

First time attending the lantern fest at the speedway. Whole family enjoyed it although 2 were feeling under the weather. Only fall back was the traffic getting out after the event. The flow of cars didn't seem organized so it took a while before we were able to get out. Coming in, no problem. Going out, needs more people directing traffic flow.

When the races are going, you can spend several hours watching many different types of cars racing. This is a very exciting thing to do. The track is nice and has lots of food and drinks to buy.

Attended for the Kings of the West Sprint car race as a birthday gift for my former Sprint car driver hubby. Had a GREAT time! Plenty of seating and friendly people! Enjoyed the pre-show displays and booths as well. Wished there had been more food available since we had not eaten supper and were quite HUNGRY! Also, being in the desert, we do recommend bringing extra jackets and even blankets because once the sun goes down, it can get mighty chilly!!!
(Gentle reminder: This attraction is out in the wide open spaces! Bathroom facilities = Porta-potties!)
