A very nice tour and a lot of things to learn. The mansion is beautiful! I also rented the hall for a fashion show my salon put on for s non profit organization. The staff at the mansion were very helpful and really nice to work with. It was a wonderful experience.

The docent at the visitor center suggested we drive by and see the Governor's Mansion. It is a very beautiful structure with a great deal of history. It was well worth the time to stop and view the home.

We were in Carson City, so checked to see notible attractions. One was the Governor's Mansion. After a walk on the historical route downtown, we arrived at the Governor's mansion, only to find out that it was a private residence, not available for tours. A security guard advised that we were not allowed on the grounds, even though the grounds are not fenced. We were only allowed to take pictures of the outside area. It was very disappointing as it is listed as an attraction, but nothing is stated that it is "view only". Architecture is beautiful to look at and grounds that we could see were pretty.

The Governor’s Mansion is oddly set in a residential neighborhood with typical middle class houses nearby. It seemed way too fancy to be among these much more humble abodes. I am reading reviews raving about the grounds which must have been at a different time of year. In the early spring when we were there the flower beds could have used mulching and trash needed picking up.

The State of Nevada Governor's Mansion is located about four blocks away from the Nevada State Capitol. I enjoyed seeing it but am not positive that were I on foot walking the walk would be worth the effort. Why I ponder does anyone need such an elaborate mansion.

no tours except on Nevada Day, so it is outside only, but that is still nice, as it is a pretty and historic building in a nice neighborhood, and very easy to get to

Perhaps it's Sunday, thus I couldn't find anyone around the building. Not even security. I was only managed to snap some photos outside, nonetheless, the building is a piece of art itself.

My little girl's favorite house to trick-or-treat at, the Nevada Governor's Mansion is a pillar of the community. While typical in many ways to a suitable home for a state's executive, the events held on the facility are valuable contributions to the ambiance of Carson City.

The Governor's mansion is situated in a historically interesting neighborhood that is worth a drive-by tour. Unfortunately, the mansion is currently a residence and therefore private. It is fun viewing the many restored homes along the way though- probably not a 'happy kid' attraction! Follow the blue line on the sidewalk for the historical tour of homes.

This lovely 100 year old mansion is part of a very good walking tour of Carson City, the Kit Carson Trail, which covers the old section of the city and lets you see historic homes in the area dating back to the middle 1800s, including the first governors house and the home of Mark Twain's brother.
