We basically did a driveby. Beautiful home and grounds. There are many lovely homes in the area, and if you can take the Kit Carson trail, I'm sure it would be more enjoyable, but my back was not up to a 2.5 mile walk.
Sadly the outside is all you can see unless invited in. It is my understanding that they have a open house once a year. In a small backstreet area with some old and some nice, some ugly and nice.

Kind of jumbled up collection of modern and older building, as the governor doesn't live there, you can only visit when open for tours or event, check with visitors center for info on access, having visited years ago when governor lived there, I wasn't impressed,...More
Not so easy to find on our Satnav but remembered Mountain Street and drove there. It is gracious in a plain and simple way but it was oddly hidden down this unassuming side street, but maybe that is the effect of historical change
We (a couple) had a chance to walk around Carson City and discover a beautiful area full of historic residential houses that reminded us of a film studio perfect-looking neighborhood.
