An easy 20 minute drive west of Las Vegas, what Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is NOT is a “working ranch” or stable for hiring horses to ride. What it IS, is a historic ranch house, with large green pastures, nestled in an idyllic setting...More

We noticed this state park en-route to Red Rock Canyon so on the way back called in. I must admit on passing it initially I thought it was a ranch where one could hire horses - silly me! Anyway we decided to call in &...More

A 13 mile loop with many spots to stop and hike or just take in the scenery. Loved watching the climbing and repelling activity. Signs for tortoise, big horn sheep, burros and wild horses but I saw none of that.

This was a very interesting and beautiful ranch. We were very disappointed that there was no volunteer to show us through the house or watch the short video of the house and grounds. This ranch has a quite a history with Howard Hughes owning it...More

We went for the water, but the pond was drained. They did not mention this at the entrance where we paid. We made do with the hiking trail, but so much was off limits that we felt restricted in where we could go. It was...More
