Our guide Lee Hall was the best. She told stories about all the owners and some of her experiences with guests, most notably a Survivor of the holocaust who had things to say about Albert Krupp. The hiking trails around the park are wonderful for...More

Spent 1.5 hours at state park in September. We ended up going on the house tour which was fascinating to hear the history of the ranch. The guide was excellent. There are some walks you can do which we didn't tackle.

Surprised the scouts with the tour of the ranch house. Ranger Josh gave an amazing tour. Knowledgeable and fun. We did the sandstone canyon hike, moderate. Scouts loved it. Penelope the cow came over and visited with the kids.

This is a place to see! Whether you just like to drive around the loop or do some hiking. Just looking at the different formation and the coloring of these mountains is truly amazing.

Wonderful park to go hiking and photo taking in. Found a turtle fossil there embedded in the wall of one of the hills. Great colors of the hills. Also great Black and White photo ops.

This area is rich in history. There is much to see, i.e. ranch house, horses, burros, cows etc. Attended a spooktacular fall event in which there were many kids activities. The ranch holds many events throughout the year, which provides a feast reason to get...More

The history of this property, a state park since 1974, is fascinating. Take a tour of the main Ranch house, guided by state park personnel or volunteer docents. You can visit the original sandstone structures that housed the ranch hands. There are many hiking trails...More

Yep! The official policy is that dogs are allowed at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, but have to be kept on a leash (6' max length) when not in your vehicle.

Perhaps they were Yuccas, Nolinas or Cholla Cactus? Saying that I cannot remember them myself. Most of the vegetation were deciduous trees. Why not e-mail the state park themselves, I'm sure they'd know.
