A short 2 hr. Or less drive south of Omaha. Very well maintained, clean including the MANY restrooms weather it is a day trip, tent or RV camping there is something for everyone. Many scenic overlooks. A pretty view of the Missouri river. Note if it's a day trip bring a picnic lunch, as it's several miles to a restaurant! There are several areas to enjoy a picnic. The fall colors were exquisite! They have a disc golf course, equine area and many more enjoyable areas. It was an October visit many campsites were decorated for Halloween..it appeared to be a contest, but fun to enjoy. Go enjoy a colorful fall visit!

We travel throughout the US in our motorhome and were pleasantly surprised at this wonderful place. While you can read other reviews on the tons of things to do, there are a few things we want to highlight. The first is how well maintained everything is and how detailed and caring the manager and staff must be. Good to see people still really care about others and their enjoyment and to do what is right....America is still a great country. The second is the outstanding nature and seclusion here. Wonderful woodlands with great grassland, prairie, and wetland management too. Notable naturalized plantings, outstanding birding and wildlife habitat. Exceptional historical areas of old town, cemetery, and Missouri river travels. So quiet and peaceful. Campground spacious. If you appreciate natural beauty, history, tons of outdoor activities, this is a gem. If you like the internet, satellite TV, and Flush toilets everywhere, I recommend you save the drive and a negative review. This place and staff deserve notable recognition in our book. Thanks to the State of Nebraska Parks and Indian Cave State Park Manager and Staff!

When buying my permit, I was advised that the Caves were closed due to damage from the flood a year before. The stairs to the caves were unsafe. The drive through the Park were amazing and there were lots of things to see along the way. I got excellent photographs and had a very peaceful drive. I did not hike as there was a light rain, but I did see three other couples starting out down the trails. Beautiful birds, flowers, view!

A nice spot. Nice views of the MIssouri River and info about Lewis & Clark's expedition. Nice campground. Coin-op showers for the morning. Unfortunately the cave was closed due to storm damage as I passed through, so wasn't able to see that.

Have to visit this area during October. We had been going here for 5-6 yrs every October, so festive & lots of campers decorate for Halloween + giving treats. Lots of things to do: haunted hayride, horse riding trails (the scenery is breathtaking), farmers market, treasure hunts (kids get a prize), etc.
