Unfortunate, awkward 'greeting'... told that purchase of state 'ID' (for one-time visit), plus modest admission charge, is mandatory or 'can't park on property'; we opted to depart ;-(

Scout’s Rest is an impressive piece of land in the northwest corner of North Platte NE. Established by WF Cody himself, his family lived her a long time and there is so much of him still there. You can walk through his house and barn...More

This place is so pretty. The grounds are beautiful, and it’s so interesting. Very large barn, and nice old house to visit!

Not a richly decorated mansion & sparsely furnished with period-relevant items but not much actually related to Bill Cody. Introductory film on Cody & the building shows in one of the last rooms you'll discover upstairs. The film would be better placed at the start...More

This is beautifully restored / maintained part of history. Lots of originals & much info on this talented entertainer of yesteryear. Lovely grounds to wander. Take time to see this great historical site.

This is one of the nicest done historical sites I’ve recently visited! You definitely will learn some and enjoy actual Cody items.

The House was well furnished, mostly with Cody family items. The short film upstairs was good info and the big beautiful barn was full of things from days gone by. A sweet breeze blew across the grasses and the brook bubbles to the pond. You...More

The grounds of the park were beautiful. The barn was impressive (and apparently having some renovations soon) However, the house needs help. The corner of the front porch was rotted thru and the paint was peeling badly. Such a historical place that needs some sincere...More

This is a beautiful old home build by William Cody and designed and decorated by his sister. He seemed to have spent very little time there but the home was well maintained in his absence. We read that he also raised purebred stallions in the...More

Yes, you do. $6.00 a day for NE residents, $8.00 a day for non residents. Your National Park Pass is for National Parks, not state parks.
