Interesting glimpse into a short Alice of Buffalo Bill's life in the home and ranch he had built in North Platte. Several original pieces of furniture, although fewer personal items of Buffalo Bill's than I expected. The barn was an unexpected surprise. Full of period wagons, carriages and implements. Really captures this period of American West life. Think it would... More

This is a smallish site comprised of the house, barn and several outbuilding in a lovely setting. The house tour was interesting with several nice displays and a video, if you're a fan of the west and Cody. The barn is impressive to see. And don't forget to go look at the buffalo. For $2 each plus $5 Nebraska parking... More

Recommend getting the North Platte All-In-One pass for $10. Did not know Bill all these things about Bill, his family or friends. The tour of the house and buildings speaks well of how those with money enjoyed their time. The video at the end of the house tour is well worth the time.

My husband and I intended to camp, but the map app that we had took us to the historic part with the museum. We had showed up late in the evening and well past the museums hour of operation. Thankfully, a police officer was patrolling the area, and he provided us with directions to get there. It is a mile... More

If you live on the East Coast of America or East of the Mississippi you may not be that impressed with Buffalo Bill Cody's mansion, Scout's Rest. Many national, state, and regional historical places in the east are more lavish, and contain more history and interest simply because of their age and being a part of larger social communities for... Beautifully manicured grounds, well preserved maintained house, we really enjoyed the barn with the displays and just walking the grounds and enjoying the weather.

Not having great expectations we were pleasantly surprised by all of the artifacts that had been Bill's and his family's positions. There's also a barn chock full of farming utensils and carriages. The self guided tour is a good deal but you have to pay $5 to park.

The house and stable barn are nicely maintained in almost a park like setting. It's just a short attraction where you learn some buffalo bill/western history, tour the grounds, see a couple bison and eat a packed lunch. There's a museum as you travel the road getting there also.
