We stop here every year on the way from Iowa to Colorado. With 3 young children (once upon a time just 2 and 1 child) it’s a nice little break for them to get out of the car, go potty, and burn off energy.

The kids love climbing around the props outside most of alll but also enjoy the little show and items inside. We always have to grab a little souvenir, many little objects at different price points.

My husband is a farmer, and I'm a teacher and small business owner, so we really appreciate the small business charm and supporting it. While this place isn’t big and flashy or a place you’d spend a long time in, the customer service and kind workers help make it worth the stop.

I hope to see this place open for heads to come!

The outside is an obvious tourist trap. It looks like a fort from the late 1800's. There is a large cutout of Buffalo Bill outside also.
Inside is a large gift store with a varied and eclectic selection, a diorama of Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West Show, a two-headed calf, and some other era displays. Overall, it's not a "must see" place, but it is good for what it is, and it's easy to get to.

This stop is a MUST if you are passing through. We stopped with an 11 and 9 year old. We all browsed for over and hour and found many "must have" items. Old time trinkets, gum, candies, along with a variety of other food items are available. There are also tshirts, sweatshirts, belts, etc..... My 9 year old loved the talking indian fortune teller in the glass case. While I had a hard time deciding which variety of Nebraska popcorn to buy. It was a fun trip. The shop is located on a great street that has many fast food drive-thrus, gas stations, etc. if you need to grab something before heading back on the expressway.

If your kid is into the Wils Wild West this is a must! Our 7 year old declared so far the best part of our road trip. Everyone in the store was so pleasant and friendly. Browsing at the things they have might relive fond childhood memories. They have a nice show with hand carved and painted figures that goes every 30 min depicting the adventures of Buffalo Bill. Close to I80 so why not stop by North Platte, grab a bite and check out this gem on your next road trip?

I was skeptical when I saw the outside of this place. However, the inside has some unique things like the miniature Buffalo Bill Wild West Show diorama and the stuffed two-headed calf. It also has a lot of unique food items and lots of interesting books for our grandchildren and us. And the retired teacher volunteer who waited on us was very friendly and talked shop with my wife, the retired teacher.

This place is so much fun for the family! The items they sell are unique and very fun. They even sold pop-its for our children. The museum out back was fun for the kids as well. Many items that are not overpriced and a lot of fun. Even if you don't purchase anything, it is fun to walk through and enjoy the items.

I wasn’t expecting a lot, but I was still disappointed. I appreciate the time taken to carve all of the pieces for the show. It was just not worth the time to stop There weren’t a lot of souvenir options, and the kids weren’t impressed.

In 2014, USA Today voted us a Top 10 place in America to buy Souvenirs. I'm sorry you didn't find anything. Most of our child visitors absolutely love Fort Cody! Hopefully you can give us another chance sometime.

We love this little place for all of the nostalgia. Come learn about Buffalo Bill, his famous show, and buy some great Nebraska souvenirs. There isn’t anything thrilling but it’s a fun place for kids and it’s simple, innocent, and free. We spend way too much money here (though it’s free to get in).

This is a very big store with lots of merchandise, especially for the tourist. There is also a small museum part that was quite interesting. We especially liked the replica of the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show. Be sure to stay to watch the animation of the show, which is turned on every half hour.

There is a miniature Buffalo Bill Wild West that the kids may enjoy to see. The outside stockade has wagons, log cabin and jail. The store has a variety of souvenirs and candy. We actually purchased a couple Nebraska t-shirts and candy. Ample parking.
