I have gone to the top of our capital building many times and the view of Lincoln from there is totally AWSOME! I would recommend this stop in Lincoln Nebraska as a Must See. There are some neat places for photo shots too, such as the rotunda room!

The Nebraska state capitol building is a gorgeous old building with great photo ops for any occasion or just to wander and enjoy the beauty. The panoramic views of Lincoln are nice. Just a note: the do close the outside observation area at the top in inclement weather so check before you go it that's what you want to see.

I definitely enjoyed my trip to the Capitol, but am disappointed in the overall upkeep of the building. There is a lot of construction in the bottom level, but no one seemed to be working on it. The capitol has the potential to be beautiful!

A beautiful state capitol with outstanding modern mosaics and architecture. I especially liked the one from the snowstorm that as known as the Children's Blizzard. You can sit in on the proceedings as well as have your group announced if you are from Nebraska and a representative will make note of you. It also has a very nice gift shop.... More

Great place to visit. Lots of art, neat architecture, and historical information. Admission is free and they do tours (hourly?). Make sure you take the elevator all the way to the top. Great views of the city. Parking can be a bit tricky.

I had been here as a kid growing up in Lincoln, but this was my first visit as an adult as well as my wife's first ever visit. We got the first tour on Saturday morning which was perfect timing because it was very quiet and those of us in the small tour group nearly had the entire building to... More

Parking is terrible. Grounds appear to have minimal elements to review (although to be fair, we visited during a snowstorm). Walls are dark or gray or brown - hardly any bright colors and no white marble anywhere. No signage to tour office but helpful staff directed us. Tour did not include governor's office or whatever viewing gallery the House chamber... More

Looking from afar, Nebraska state capitol building will not attract your eyes at the first sight. But don't let your eyes fool you, this capitol is worth your time to explore, enjoy, and admire. I was impressed with how beautiful and graceful each decoration is inside the building. We visited the building on Saturday and was thinking it would be... More

Beautiful mosaics, paintings, sculptures. Fantastic view of Lincoln from the tower. Also has Peregrine Falcon pair that nest on the tower. You can follow them on the Falcon cam and watch the chicks grow. Don't miss this architectural wonder.
