Beautiful mosaic ceilings and floors, paintings and sculptures inside the 400-foot high capitol building are as impressive as its marble, bronze and gold leaf exterior and white tower topped by a bronze statue. Free guided tours are available.

The Nebraska State Capital building is a solitary spire, on the Great Plains of the Midwest. It is the only state capital building built as a tower, climbing toward the sky. Many other unique characteristics of Nebraska are housed here, and the view from the 14th floor cannot be beat!

The Nebraska Capitol building has the best artwork in the state. Walk in and find the tour office. The tours are free and last about 30min.

Interesting decorative building , outdated and interesting inside and out , still using several rooms , each floor is different and the side rooms small with large hallways artistically laid out . The tall building has a wonderful dome and a large lawn but not much parking around the "square" that takes a whole block .

The history of and in the building is fascinating. It's fun to visit when the Unicameral is in session. Don't forget to see out from the top!

The Nebraska State Capitol Building is a work of art that celebrates the human and natural history of the state and the region, as it serves as the centerpiece of the nation's only unicameral (one-house) legislature. It's worth taking the time to wander around in the limestone and marble hallways, adorned with amazing mosaics, busts, paintings, and politicians.

Such a beautiful setting with ornate carvings on the exterior walls. Easy access, and a great deal of parking when visiting in the evening. We took a walk around the entire exterior, as a walking roof top, is available to the public at no charge.

Impressive tall building in Lincoln, NE. Glad we saw it, and compared to a number of others, was quite good.

Multiple people had told me that Nebraska has the prettiest state capitol, so of course we had to include it on our itinerary. Pulling up, I didn't think the building was that great (it's a skyscraper capitol), but that changed as soon as we walked in. The interior is absolutely beautiful! There are tours, but if you're not there for... More
