Great history to go with hands on exhibits. My kids loved dressing up as firefighters and ringing the bell. Highly recommend

This is not a huge museum, but it holds lots of information. We enjoyed going through it and seeing the history portrayed there.

This is a neat museum dedicated to and supported by the many Fire Companies throughout Nebraska as is the wonderful memorial behind the building. The cost is nominal. They have some really nice old fire trucks and lots of equipment, all displayed very well and close so it easy to see. The very helpful lady, who was very friendly and extremely informative, told us the equipment is rotated in my companies from all over the state, so it changes constantly. For families , there are lots for the kids, some interactive, some for them to change or wear. After we finished with the museum, we went out back to the memorial and after enjoying it, sat on a bench and ate our lunch while just looking at the memorial. The whole visit was well worth it. Firefighters have a place in our hearts since both our son-in-law and grandson are firefighters. So this was meaningful to us on another level

Great stop on our trip across NE to get out and stretch and let the kids play. Leashed dogs allowed as well!

The kids enjoyed the coloring and playing with the toy fire trucks. There was a big Bell to ring and a super fun (loud!) crank siren on the kid-sized fire truck. We were there for 1.5 hours and the firefighter there was very interesting to talk to.

My kids really enjoyed the Firefighters museum. They loved the interactive parts and playing dress up and using the old fashioned siren. They took pride and had prayer time in the back at the place of the memorial. It was beautiful.

This museum offers a collection of historic fire fighting trucks, safety equipment, flame retardant suits, and memorabilia related to fire fighting. Most of the exhibits seem to be curated from Nebraska communities, so the museum also offers a glimpse into the history of rural Nebraska. There is also a tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. There is an outdoor memorial to fallen firefighters from Nebraska

This museum is a hidden gem that anyone who is interested in firefighting, emergency services, or emergency medical vehicles and equipment should take the time to visit if they are in the area. This is a private museum that has been put together by getting donations of money and equipment and this year was celebrating their 10th year. There are all sorts of interesting equipment packed into glass display cases, static floor displays, photographs, exhibits and much, much more. The entrance fee is minimal and you can spend a couple hours going through all the interesting things there. There is even a couple exhibits for the children that are hands-on. I highly recommend this museum.

I was in Kearney for the crane migration but the weather didn't cooperate. I saw this museum and decided to stop. It is small but it was interesting and educational especially for fire safety. In addition to the big firetrucks on display, they also had a couple of displays with fire hazards that you had to find and kids could win a prize. They even had a dress up area to put on fire hats and boots and a siren you could sound. So I think kids especially would get a real kick out of it.

This museum is amazing. Even though it's king of small you come out totally excited.

Their collection of artifacts is unique. Their exhibits are interesting. This museum is for everybody.

The things you see there you might not see them anywhere again!

Highly recommend to visit it!!
