    Delicious wine tasting
We visited Amisfield on a dreary day but had such a lovely time. The restaurant was busy but we were interested in the wine tasting - $15/pp but if you buy wine the tasting cost is subtracted from the purchase price. I challenge you to leave empty handed once you taste the wine. The staff were professional and very knowledgeable, and the range for tasting covers most palates. Highly recommend.

    Stunning Food, Wine and Setting
This was simply a stunning place to visit and have lunch. Personally winery lunches in NZ are not overwhelming. Prior to Amisfield the two such places have really enjoyed in this setting have been Herzog in Blenheim and Pegasus Bay (restaurant now closed). The setting, the food, the wine and the staff were simply outstanding at Amisfield. The food is of gourmet standard and with aged cellar wines to match the beautiful setting I can not recommend this place high enough. Do go!!

    Wine & Food Pairings
Was a wonderful visit and had been recommended by our son & several travelers we met while traveling the South Island. We were not disappointed! Service was excellent! Wine & Food pairings complimented each other and tasted wonderful not mentioning the food looked like artwork on our plates. Would love to repeat this experience but unfortunately we live too far away. Did buy a couple of bottles to bring home in our suitcases to remember our fun experience.

Was truly looking forward to my Amisfield experience, but was totally unimpressed from the moment I walked in and was greeted by your front of house sour face staff member (sorry couldn’t even call her a maitre d). Our family and I (party of 8) were looking forward to a wine tasting experience with lunch only to be advised that unfortunately that wouldn’t be possible… quite surprised considering the amount of tables that were available. It was such a shame as it was a beautiful venue but the ‘vibe’ and undertone didn’t match. However, a stunning end to the day by visiting GIBSON VALLEY WINES… ‘Bindy’ was a true standout…. the absolute experience I was looking for👌

I took my parents and sister to Amisfield for lunch, and we were seated in one of the glasshouses outside.

I would like to point out that our food and waiter were both amazing. However due to the wind, the outdoor umbrella blew over but got caught on a rope and fell into the glasshouse causing glass to smash everywhere. Thankfully we walked away with only a few minor cuts and it could have been much worse.

The way in which management dealt with the situation and my family after the fact was a truly poor experience for what had happened. We were offered plasters and ushered out, it seems the staff were more interested in the glasshouse/ closing up than the well-being of their guests.

We sat inside whilst we finished our drinks - and not once did the manager come up and enquire how we were or how my mother was - quite astonishing really.

Lovely view and well set up. The gentleman who did our wine tasting was lovely and knowledgeable. The staff in the restaurant couldn’t have been ruder if they tried and it was clear they weren’t interested in serving us. Wouldn’t go back again.

We were told we should book and via website could only choose one menu (which was fine). Arrived a little early so popped into the tasting room and Alex looked after us. We had a great chat with him -merci!
We were shown to our table under an umbrella in the gorgeous courtyard. We chose matching wines.
The first few courses we were well looked after but then things slowed down. We had to ask for water - twice. With dessert they forgot to give us the matching wine. Given there was plenty of staff and the standard of this restaurant, this is below par from a service point of view.
Each course was visually stunning, the flavours fantastic. Wines were delightful, although serving pour was smaller than we are used to compared to similar restaurants we’ve been to.
It was a beautiful sunny day which afforded stunning views.
A very pleasant afternoon

Our cellar door host was Danny, who gave us absolutely exceptional service. Very friendly, knowledgable and welcoming, we felt like VIPs. Ben the winemaker also came and spoke to us during the tasting and gave us a great insight into the wine and the process behind it - his passion was infectious.
The wines themselves were fantastic, but the hospitality we received from Danny made us buy much more than we intended! As Queenstown locals we’ll definitely be coming back more often.

Lovely but extremely slow wine tasting. Lunch was a bar food menu. Quite obscure. 7 choices. 6 had seafood. No vegetarian/vegan options. Chef had to be consulted as to whether he could provide a vegetarian meal. Half our meals had so much garlic on them we couldn’t finish them. Very overpriced as the servings were tiny. But they did take those meals we couldn’t finish off the bill at least. A very overrated experience. Will not be going back.

Fun time wine tasting. Very knowledgeable host. Surprised by a reisling, ended up buying a bottle. The bistro looked really good, sadly it was fully booked for lunch when we visited.

An interesting experience from start to end. Beautiful setting. Staff very much went through the motions with each course presented. One of the best courses were the plums which were presented in a bowl of plums from which we had to ‘forage’ to find the plums we were meant to eat, the bowl was then literally ‘whipped’ away by the waitress who told us the rest were for “display only”!! Please don’t do this to customers anymore! Maybe give customers a few plums to eat as they were so delicious. I would also urge you to serve a little treat with coffee - a tiny brownie or chocolate would have been welcome and requires no explanation!!

We did a degustation lunch at Amisfield. The service was 10/10, food was incredible and of course the wine is delicious. We snuck in a wine tasting before lunch which worked well. Super special, would highly recommend.

This was a once in a lifetime treat! We had heard so many good things about coming here for a meal and it did not disappoint. I think the menu has changed since the recommendations were made - but that did not matter. We could not fault the service, food or wine!

Be prepared to some money but it is totally worth it! The mains are also designed to share and it was amazing!

We had such a great time - we are still buzzing about it a day later!!

Thank you to the team for a memorable moment!!
