Just like I remembered as a kid, but even better with some updates to the firearms collection. Take your family and visit.

A docent at another museum suggested this. We drove about 30 minutes to get to the museum and glad we did. Did not realize these contributions Nebraskans made to my life. I remember Cliff's Notes from high school! The 'smell-o-vision' of the Kool Aid exhibit was an added bonus. Wide variety of items from doll houses, to antique weapons, to... More

The museum building, some of the more recent exhibits, and the IMAX theater are more than you might expect from a town the size of Hastings. This is in part due to Kool Aid corporate funding and the Kool Aid exhibit is one of the more interesting in the museum. Beyond that the collection is an eclectic mix of old... More

Had read about this museum by other reviewers but was still amazed by the displays. The attention to detail in the taxidermy room was absolutely beautiful. The handmade dollhouse is worth a trip to the museum alone. Such fine craftsmanship. Loved the koolaid display, the lock stock & barrel room, the pioneer & native artifacts. The only thing I didn't... More

This probably one of the best museums on the Pioneers in the United States. If offers a lot of history, exhibits and self guided tours that leaves you in awe of the accomplishments of our pioneers. Definitely a stop for those traveling in this part of the state.

On our road trip 'out west' we decided to stop at the Hastings Museum. We initially stopped for the "Kool-aid" museum, but were quite impressed with the facility as a whole. There are 3 levels to the museum. We had 3 kids with us (2 teens, 1 preteen), and there was just enough interactive exhibits to keep them engaged. The... More

On our way to the hotel we saw the building and added it to our list of things to see in Hastings. Glad we did. Who would have thought that a museum of this class was to be found in the middle of Nebraska? I understand that dioramas are a thing of the past because they're so expensive but these... More
