Nice experience walking through a lava cave with a great knowledgeable and entertaining guide. They provide helmets and you need to climb up and down about 3 flights of steps at the beginning and at the end. Once you are in the cave it is...More

Visited The Cave @ Vidgelmir and learned so much about lava caves formation. Thanks to Marja, our tour guide for explaining how the cave was formed in lay man's term for newbie like me. It makes alot of sense and really love the tour. Highly...More

We took a day drive to explore the area and decided to check out The Cave — not something we had planned to do. We arrived 5 minutes before a tour was about to start — perfect timing! We were able to join a group...More

We had only been in limestone caves before this. If you have never been in a lava cave, this experience is worth it! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we were able to experience 100% darkness in the middle of the tour (he asked...More

An absolutely fantastic experience. The darkness, helmets, head torches and walkways make it fun. I'm no geologist but the cave is visually fascinating, and you learn *so much* (adults too, this definitely isn't just aimed at children!). The whole experience was really topped off by...More

What a cool experience in The Cave! This is a guided tour of a lava cave in Iceland where you get to actually descend into the cave. Everything is well organized and it’s an easy walk once you descend using stairs into the cave.
