Place is under new management and they are making it fantastic. New stairways, new safe walkway in the cave. New visitors station in progress. Guide Emilia was great. Direction to place poor at this time with poor signs but GPS works great. Price is a bit high compare to the attraction but expected since so much renovation going on. Great... More

The cave is great! Guides and staff are really friendly and welcoming but the best part is that it is all natural with no fuss. The cave is lighted and there is a made up path. Definitely worth visiting.

This was awesome ! The guide is very helpful and we wanted to say thank you for your hospitality ! The visit of the cave is interesting because we learn about volcanoes but we also learn from Iceland, Icelandic people, Icelandic tales... Despite all I said before I won't give five star because the visit is too expensive in my... More

We really enjoyed our tour at "The Cave". Our guide, Maria, gave us lots of information about history and the cave itself. She also told some funny/scary stories about trolls and elfs - was real fun! The tour was about 1,5 hours. Service was great and staff was very friendly! You can also enjoy a cup of coffee or tea... More

We had an excellent guide (Maria) who took us on an extremely windy day into the depths of Vidgelmir cave. It's a cave made when lava has flowed down the valley hundreds of years ago. It's very interesting and Maria was an informative and funny guide, very knowledgeable about geology and volcanology. The ice formations and the basalt rock inside... More

Great tour and interesting cave. Our guide Emilia was fantastic. We were scheduled for an earlier tour but were running late. They let us change our tour time without issue. Unique, fascinating experience.

We had amazing time here, the staff from this attraction were very friendly and even we arrive late they allow us to change our booking for later in the afternoon. I felt very safe going in the Cave, the guide put a lot of effort by being informative about the attraction and to keep the group safe and at the... More

This lava cave is a great experience for the whole family. It is run by young people that seem to really enjoy it and make the whole experience fun. Since all tours in Iceland are overpriced this one seemed reasonable (I would say expensive if it was not in iceland). Since the walk is underground it is a good choice... More

Having visited limestone caves but never a lava cave before, I wasn't sure what to expect. The cave was fascinating. Our tour guide was fantastic- sadly, none of us can recall her name. She had a great sense of humor without being annoying. She was also extremely knowledgeable and personable. We had a 9 and 13 year old with us... More
