About
Family winery, with long tradition of wine making. Known mosty for fresh, white wines such as Sylvaner, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Muscat, Pinot gris, etc. For the last 7 years, we can welcome you on our property, where you can taste our wines and enjoy 5 or 6 course menus (if prearranged) in a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Opening hours: - Thursday&Sunday 1pm - 7pm - Friday&Saturday 1pm - 9pm - or any other time if you previously contact us

Gaube estate is known by wine production for several years and 3 family generations. The estate is located in a wonderful špičnik area, very near famous heart shaped road in the vineyards. The house is surrounded by nice yard where you can enjoy the view to vineyards and wonderful nature.
In tja last years the family developed the culinary services offered to the guests with excelent wines. In 2020 they were selected in 10 best tourist farm estetes in slovenia and after this visit we saw that it was more than deserved. You choose 3 or 4 course menu with choice of the main dish with fish or meat. All dishes were served in beautiful handmade pilates and tasted real good. We were able to choose several desserts and we tried everything. You could not decide which one was the best because all of the desserts were simpy great.
Highly recommended for a superior culinary experience in beautiful place where family "touch" can be felt every minute of your visit.

Our Slovenian family hosted a 5 course dinner with wine pairing and it was absolutely wonderful. From the appetizer through the soup, salad, entree and dessert the service, food and wine were impeccable. The amazing flavors of the roasted red pepper soup and the fig stuffed pork tenderloin were so satisfying...then the dessert options came. A tough decision lead to everyone selecting different items. I would highly recommend a trip to this wonderful winery.

I was extremely fortunate to have been taken to Vino Gaube by some friends this week.They had booked the table a few days in advance which is essential.We approached the vineyard from Austria via the Weinstrasse route and the view were stunning in the early evening sun.
We were given a very warm welcome by Alojzij and promptly started the evening with a glass of Gaudium Rose. This was promptly followed up by a platter of home made & grown canapes.. The menu that followed was superb including the marinated fillet of beef on a rocket salad - roasted pepper soup - pork belly slow cooked sous vide for 24 hours with the most amazing celery & vegetable emulsion & roasted potatoes.
The dessert I selected was a chocolate bomb with raspberry ice cream with a warm chocolate sauce.
That was the food & we had a full flight of wines to accompany the meal including their award winning Chardonnay and the delicious Kaspar Sauvignon.
This family run vineyard & restaurant is truly one of Slovenia's best kept secrets and I hope Vino Gaube continues to prosper for years to come.

Let us put one thing straight. This is no "place of activity", it is now a proper and well known restaurant on the winemakers' premises. Owned by the winemaker of serious national reputation. Location is fabulous - right in the vineyards, still in Slovenia, a mile from the Austrian competitors. Previously agritourism, now a serious restaurant. All details are lovingly taken care of. Parking obviously is no issue compared to the feat of climbing several turns upwards from Kungota in the valley. Marvellous terrace, warm interior. Perfect restrooms.
Service is on shoulders of the young son of the owners. Done easily, faultlessly and with a lot of charm. Only the winemaker’s wines are available. Formidable prices therefore, obviously. As cuisine is made to counter the Styrian slightly acidic wines, there is no serious problem in food vs. wine relation. And mother in the kitchen works hard and well – using the local ingredients and having had some serious previous culinary education. 3 to 5 course menus are the idea. We left feeling truly completed. Culinary experience 11 out of 20 on my very demanding scale.
A summer sunny day on the terrace, enjoying their dishes and the vineyards ahead is something any food&wine lover should enjoy at least once in a lifetime.

Today we have had lunch at Vino Gaube. Despite we did not made a reservation we were welcome. But it is better to let them know you want to have lunch!!
The food and the wines were great and a real treat! We bought some bottles of wine to bring back home and during the winter we will think back to the lovely place and people of Vino Gaube.

We had long wanted to visit Vino Gaube and we finally made it yesterday - a Sunday and one of the four days a week Gaube is open to enjoy their fine food and wine. From appetizer to desert, each dish was delicious and unique. The accompanying wines were perfect mates to the foods. We can't wait for our return trip.

We visited the cellar Gaube. One of the best wine producers in region and outstanding domestic cuisine. Worth of visiting.

Stopped in for an unannounced wine tasting (during opening hours) and were warmly welcomed. Had a wonderful wine tasting with complimentary snacks. Fantastic wine that we will be taking back home with us. Go.... well worth it.
