As a photographer, finding out that photography is not allowed INSIDE the chateau AFTER we arrived, felt like a deception to me. I searched the website before we decided to visit, but nothing was mentioned about photography at all. Had I known this prior to arrival, I would have chosen a different chateau. I always base my excursions upon photography being allowed. Please update your website to inform visitors of this rule. The gardens are charming, however, several of the ponds were green or empty. Inside, the chateau smells very musty. It is dark with cobwebs and dust. The poor chateau never gets any fresh air. It's an absolute shame to own an historic chateau and be too cheap to hire a cleaning crew for a day to clean it, especially given the entry fee. Dear Owners, YOU are the CARETAKERS of this historic property...key word here: CARETAKER. The poor chateau needs some CARE. The chateau feels shuttered away from the world, from fresh air and empty of love and care. I have visited so many chateaux I have lost count, but this is by far the saddest. And it is such a shame too, because with some care it could be magnificent! We didn't even have access to the chapel, only photos of it posted outside. For the high entry fee with access restricted to about 4 rooms and the small gardens, I suggest you save your money and visit another chateau.
