Due to time constraints on a trip back from Montana I telephoned the ranch to see if an abbreviated stay could be arranged. It was left that I would receive a call back or message on my readily accessible cell phone. This was checked frequently so that travel plans could be determined. Neither was received and a follow up telephone message was again not returned. The courtesy of a return message regarding my inquiry was certainly warranted!

In its hay day it must have been amazing but now it’s just a rip off. Tammy and Jerry are very nice while you’re there very rude when you’re not…
I had confirmation they received gifts I sent and a video of their ranch but when I tried contact them there was no response.
There was no thank you!!
I rode a “trail horse” for two days which Tammy said they don’t put people on.
Food was good and the girls worked hard to make it.
So disappointed that any of the stuff on the website was not at the ranch. It’s bait and switch. There were no other activities.

Jerry and Tammy are fantastic people. It was the whole Ranch experience. The first day a horse got out of the pen...work for them..exciting for me. We then ride out for miles checking on the cattle and making sure all the windmill watering holes were working properly.. The meals are delicious and there's more than any 1 person could ever eat. Met people from all over the world and can't wait to go back next year!

This working Ranchcombines everything you can hear from a place of this style: silence, nature, close contact with the animals of the ranch, riding with exceptional horses, go deep in the life of a ranch. It also has the affection of the owners, and the exquisite meals prepared by Tammy. And to all this and more add the price that is very cheap for the quality it has. If you want to live the life of the west visit this ranch as its name indicates it is 1 plus 1 and much more

We had an awesome week at the ranch! Jerry and Tammy are wonderful hosts and the horses were awesome too. We got to ride everyday. Checking cattle and moving heifers to the corral. Even got to move a bull from the pasture!. We will definitely be back.

Back from a week at the ranch. Great week. Tammy and Jerry are friendly and great hosts. Meals delicious. If you walk away from the table hungry it is your own fault.
The horses and cows are healthy and well cared for. Jerry is a wonderful teacher. I have a whole new respect for ranchers.
Cabins clean and comfortable.
Weather was great. Would definitely return.

Had a wonderful time at Jerry and Tammy’s ranch. They are terrific hosts. Great horses and so fun to work with the cattle.
Tammy’s food is delicious. Jerry is a great, patient teacher out in the pastures and in the pen. You will love your stay!!

My friend and I decided to make a quick getaway before school starts and wanted to try for the dude ranch experience. After narrowing our choices we felt that Rowse's was the best fit, and were right to trust our instincts because the 1 + 1 ranch was one of the best experiences we've ever had.

Rowse's is a real working ranch. Each day we rode out with Jerry to check on the cattle, move them from pasture to pasture and anything else that is on his agenda. They never made us do anything we felt uncomfortable with, but they treated us like one of their own and we were thrilled to be part of the action. To say the least, we quickly adapted to the sway of things (particularly in the saddle). The horses Jerry picked for us were amazing. It was my friend's first time in the saddle but she quickly learned thanks to the advice she got from the ranchers and how well tempered her horse, Jose, was. I've had my share of rotten horses on trail rides and during lessons but I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I trusted and connected with my horse, Gus. Cantering through the sand hills is a moment I'll always cherish.

The ranch itself is in an area called the sand hills which is unlike anything I've ever seen back home in forested northwest NJ. It stretches on for miles and you tend to forget that you're in the 21st century. We stayed in one of the cabins which was lovely, clean and air conditioned. The food made by Tammy and Erin was amazing, a reason to go in itself. We immediately felt at home with the Rowse's and the other guests. I strongly believe the ranch attracts a certain type of person and, because of this, we really connected with the other guests, regardless of what age or country they were from. We definitely created a pseudo-family, strengthened by us working together in the fields and chatting over the dinner/supper table.

We weren't sure what type of ranch experience we wanted but now that our trip is over we can't imagine going anywhere else, hot tubs and head to butt trail rides seem too trivial. We look forward to visiting the Rowse's again and bringing our family and friends along for the ride. We can't thank them enough for the great experience.

Rowse’s 1+1 markets and prices itself as a top tier riding destination. While there are some nice and positive things about Rowse’s such as the general venue and quality of the food, the negatives sufficiently outweighed these for us to rate it as a 1. A.) It’s not well organized. There’s no daily schedule or explanation of the next day’s activities other than when to meet at the barn to tack the horses. You never really knew what you were doing or how long you’d be gone until you’d left the barn and there were many dead hours when there was no option but to hang out. Our last day there we finished up rounding up the cattle around 10:30 and no one had a clue what if anything was scheduled for the rest of the day. B.) The support staff while helpful in getting the horses ready obviously has had no training in quest relations and was often curt and condescending. This was a marked contrast to the many other venues where we’ve traveled. C.) The problem starts at the top. Jerry often seemed like the guests’ intrusion and inconvenience created for his operation was only tolerated because of the supplemental revenue. After he directed an inappropriate, rude, disrespectful and crude comment at me (but clearly heard by my wife and another quest), we decided we’d had enough and were packing up and leaving as soon as we got back to the ranch which was a day earlier than we had planned. The “working cattle ranch” experience is something we’d entertain again as riding in the beautiful open pastures and driving the cattle was quite a pleasant experience. However we would not recommend or consider Rowse’s 1+1 again.

I have been to several Ranch Vacations but Rowse's 1+1 ranch is the real thing!!!!!!!
First for a midwesterner it is an easy drive with some great scenery to get to the ranch. When you arrive you are greeted by your hosts Tammy and Jerry who immediately put you in a relaxed state of mind. You are shown what appears to be your rustic accomodations that have every amenity you would need plus a welcoming main house that is open to you for anything else.
Jerry and Tammy allow their guests to get settled then have a meal so everyone can introduce themselves. They take only adult guests and there is no single suppliment charge if you are traveling alone. Within 24 hours you feel like a family.
You do no have to worry about age or level of riding exprience. they match you with a well trained horse to your level.
Then the fun starts. This is a working ranch and you are side by side doing the ranching with Jerry, Tammy, their son Kyle and charming daughter in law Tracy. Don't plan a schedule because it changes based on ranch needs and the neighbors requests for help. Everyday is a new exprience. If your body doesn't hold out and you need to rest and back out of an activity no problem but I would recommend you push yourself to exprience everything they have to offer.
Meals are wholesome ranch cooking planned and made by Tammy. You will not go hungry. The staff is so attentive they noticed I never took dessert and asked about it. ( I have borderline diabetes) The next day they had sugar free pudding for me without a request from me.
I can not say enough about the great exprience I had and observed others having the week I was there. I am trying to free up another week this summer to drive out to the 1+1 ranch. I know it will be different since the ranch will have different needs.
If you have any questions or concerns give Tammy a call. She put me at ease with my first contact by phone and you will feel the warmth of a truly great hostess over the phone.
Thanks Tammy and Jerry for a great time.
