This is a very good horse back riding experience. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The horses are awesome! My horse (Tequila) was a bit of an eater and took me off path quite a few times to dine on the tall grass and wasn’t the best listener, but she is a good girl. My daughter had the best time on her horse (Taos)!

Be advised that the tour is long (2 hours), so settle in. If you don’t ride often like me, be prepared to be sore for a few days. You ride through the woods on sometimes very small trails where you rub against trees, so dress appropriately. I recommend using a helmet to keep from getting conked on the head with stray tree branches.

If you want to do a horseback riding experience, I recommend.

What a fabulous experience! We had 7 members in our group, ages 14-75, and every single person loved it. We chose a 2-hour trail ride, and the scenery could not have been more breathtaking! The owner, Rex, is an absolute joy to talk to, and his entire staff was patient, helpful, and kind. Highly recommend Diamond P Ranch!

We attended the horse riding on June 4th this year. We were divided to 4 small groups of people (5-6 in the group). The employees gave us pics of the horse we're going to ride. Then they demonstrated a demo how to operate the horse. My horse Patty was very quiet, listening to my commands and doing them immediately. She was very pleasant and lovely! All horses seem to be very well trained. The guides are very helpful. We took at least 1.5 hour ride in the woods on mountain. Unforgettable experience!

the horses and staff were lovely, but, in all honesty, the trip was quite boring. we took the two hour evening ride and it was just kind of through bland woods with nothing really to see other than a stop where you can kind of see some mountains. i wouldn’t say this is a must do at yellowstone. there are probably more interesting rides to invest jn

Had a 3 hour ride. Myself, wife and 9 year old. Guide (Colt) did a fantastic job of showing us the beautiful scenery that Montana’s mountainside had to offer. Got to see wildlife (deer and a fox) and most importantly my wife and daughter walked away with huge smiles. The horses were well trained and docile. Overall, wonderful trip!!!!

The booking process was easy. We stayed in West Yellowstone and this is a quick ten minute drive. Our group of ten included our adult children and middle aged grandsons, we did the three hour ride. The guides were amazing, very knowledgeable about the area and safety. Our youngest grandson is 8, the guide had him right up front with her and was very attentive. The second guide brought up the rear and joined in conversations about the horses and area. The horses themselves were very clean, healthy, and tack was in great condition. The trail was well maintained, safe, and beautiful scenery. One of the trips highlights for all.

I took the evening ride, into the woods and up the hills south of the ranch. Then our guide Lindsey led us back down into the open valley. I had the best horse - Tattoo, and was very grateful to be given the opportunity to ride him. Lindsey showed some cowgirl grit in riding at a gallop towards some elk who were not happy we were in their meadow, and were upsetting some of the horses. One of the best trail rides I have been on.

I’m a little late posting our wonderful experience but must share the fun we had at the Diamond P. We even went back a second day. The ranch is nice to hang out at and the little shop has lots of gifts. Everyone bought a gift or two. Lorraine went out with the guides riding Wasabi, a very gentle and beautifully mottled horse. She had the time of her life crossing the main road and heading to the forest. The pictures they took are stunning, make sure you get a professional shot, if available. I wore my hat so much I had to retire it!

Great experience. Covered a wide variety of terrain in a very enjoyable ride through Gallatin National Forest. Plenty of horses - all looked very well cared for, and healthy. Folks were very friendly and helpful. Colt did a great job in sharing his knowledge as well as making sure everyone enjoyed themselves.

5 stars all the way. This place was so fun and friendly - all sorts of staff kept checking in with us and saying hi, both before and after ride. And the attention to detail in getting you assigned a horse is a hoot. Alana was terrific and our group of 8 had a blast. Thank you to everyone at the ranch that made our visit special.
