The snow coach picked our group of two up from our hotel in West Yellowstone exactly on time at 8am. The coach was comfortable clean and warm (seat belts were provided). Our tour guide was Don. Don did a really marvelous job of sharing his knowledge of the park, history, geology, fun anecdotal stories along with a few fun quizzes; he was able to provide great information on the parks animals and answered all of the passengers many questions. We took some snacks and beverages along with us and stopped for a purchased lunch at Old Faithful (prices were a little steep there so it may be helpful to take a packed lunch with you). There were plenty of bathroom stops along the way. There was a lot of getting on and off of the coach at the stops. Some of the walks to viewing areas were rather slippery so wearing some safe grip footwear is advisable. This was an interesting and fun experience. Well worth putting this trip on your winter to do list!

We’re a group of old college friends that get together for an annual ski trip, which brought us to Big Sky this year. Each year, we choose a local activity to do mid-week to explore the area a bit more and give our legs a rest from the mountain. Our snow coach tour with Don McKenzie could not have been more perfect! He was super informative and entertaining throughout the entire experience. We’ve had the opportunity to travel to many resorts, and this was by far our favorite rest day experience. We highly recommend this tour, and specifically Don, for a wonderful Yellowstone experience!

Even though we tried to book a guided winter tour of Yellowstone 4 months in advance, nearly all operators were booked. We were lucky enough to get a private guided snowcoach tour. A bit more expensive than a regular tour would have been, the extra was worth it. Our guide, Bob Hardy, was a wildlife biologist who listened to our conversations and figured out our preferences. He also knew the local weather, the snow-mobile patterns, and recent wildlife activity. In the morning when it was a bit snowy and poor visibility, he drove us directly to Old Faithful. By the time we got there, it was clearing out and there were few people. BTW. Old Faithful was the least interesting and least beautiful thing we saw on the entire tour! That's how great the rest was. We had a nice bag lunch at Biscuit Basin. It was up to about 20 degrees so we ate outdoors. The natural beauty will leave you speechless. While we had several bison encounters, including a mini stampede and 2 cows fighting, the coyote stalking a family pod was breathtaking. The young bull who snorted and gave the coyote the "stink eye" convinced the coyote to leave the pod alone!

Don McKenzie is the man. I have been on quite a few tours, and none have been as informative, personal, unique, and rugged yet cozy. The geysers were really uncool. As a matter of fact, they were “blazin”. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to Don’s amazing storytelling. From the historical importance of the one they call “Mary”, to the information regarding wolf introduction into Yellowstone. This man is a wealth of knowledge, endearing, and funny. I was at first tentative about being inside a small vehicle with someone I did not know, but he made us feel extremely comfortable. Thanks Don! RIP 181 🤘🏼

Our adult son wanted to see some real winter and lots of snow. In the five years we have lived in Idaho, he has visited half a dozen times but always in spring, summer or fall. We took a snow coach tour to Old Faithful (which he had seen three times, but never in winter!) Our guide Clark was laid back and just chatty enough with some good stories. He was very patient and stopped every five minutes so our son could take photos of the wildlife with his enormous lens and new camera. We saw bison (of course), bald eagles, a golden eagle in flight, swans and a wily coyote. Great shots. NOW he has already reserved a 3-day snowmobile tour next February with his girlfriend! Can't say enough good things about See Yellowstone Tours!

Took the Old Faithful Tour and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone tour on snowmobiles. Great way to see the park and thermal features. Snowing pretty hard on the first day could barely see Old Faithful but you can sure hear it! Our guides very knowledgeable and the sleds reliable (but not fast, 4 stroke skidoos with governed performance). Bison, swans, an eagle, the Firehole river, Haines Valley where we saw an Ermine skampering over the snow. Very cool.

Rented mountain sleds for 2 days out of the park in the Gallatin Forest. Excellent trail system, went over the Contrinental Divide (but if you want a picture in front of the sign its out of the way). My sled had minor malfunction (blew a light), but that was all they had, next day they got me a better sled with no issue. Good performance and beautiful views. Would rent from them again.

They say on the website “no refunds” and they mean it. We had reservations for a snowcoach tour with SeeYellowstone, but the night before our tour there was a snowstorm. We tried for 45 minutes but could not get out of our driveway due to all of the snow. I called SeeYellowstone to let them know we physically could not get there, and asked for at least a partial refund. They gave us none. $635 completely wasted. Unless you are 100% certain you can get to their office regardless of weather or road conditions, you might want to book with someone else.

They changed vehicles to one without seat belts, said they weren't required to have them and "read the agreement". During booking I explained that that we would be bringing a child and wanted a restraint as the vehicles go 35mph, they charged my credit card with this understanding. Extremely rude customer service and said if you want a full refund then "call your credit card company" and hung up on me. -Arlene

I booked three full day charters for my group with See Yellowstone and had the pleasure of having Don McKenzie as our guide. Don has a wealth of knowledge about Yellowstone and can answer just about any questions that you throw at him.

Since we were in the park focusing on photography, Don gave us space and did not talk the entire time which was perfect. He'd toss facts and stories at us during appropriate times when there was already silence on the snow-coach.

We were able to stop whenever we saw wildlife and there was no sense of a need to hurry at any of the stops.

I will be booking my next snow coach trip into Yellowstone with See Yellowstone.

The snowcoach tour to Old Faithful was fantastic. Our guide was Don, who provided lots of information and is a great story teller. The park is amazing in winter, the geysers and other thermal features are incredible to see. It was a very cold day, but the snowcoach was warm and comfortable. This was a great experience and I highly recommend See Yellowstone Snowcoach Tours.
