Having been to several plays at the PlayMill Theater over the years, I am never disappointed in the experience. From the minute you walk in the theater, you are being pampered and entertained. Pre-show, the cast takes turns singing a great variety of songs, some with choreography. The shows are very professionally done with great stage effects, lighting and music. The ease with which the stage props are changed is amazing. During intermission, the actors turn into waiters and waitresses offering a great variety of goodies. We saw "Bright Star", which we had never heard of but it fit our schedule. It was an amazing play. We would highly recommend it or any of the offerings of this great little gem in YNP.

This is my second consecutive year coming to West Yellowstone to watch performances at The Playmill Theater and the shows just keep getting better and better! As a New Yorker, I have seen many Broadway performances but it isn’t the same as going to The Playmill Theater. I would prefer a performance at The Playmill Theater any and every day over any performance on Broadway! At The Playmill Theater, the tickets are affordable which allows me to see a lot of them. Each time I go I am always greeted with a big hug and treated like one of their own. The theater is small so it really allows you to get the chance to know the actresses and actors. Since this is my second consecutive year attending performances, the cast and crew and I have really gotten to know each other. Each time I attend a performance I get treated like their family. Getting treated as family is the best feeling in the world. I am in Montana seasonally and this summer I am here alone, so having the performers treat me as one of their own means the world to me. If you are ever fortunate enough to visit West Yellowstone, GO TO THE PLAYMILL THEATER!

The Playmill performances are one of our favorite activities during the summer at West Yellowstone. It is so uplifting to see the talent and uplifting efforts of the actors. They are always full of energy and excitement giving us an uplifting experience every time we go, even when we see the same show more than once. One of the highlights in Tarzan is the singing and acting of Brayton. She plays the role of Kala the ape mother of Tarzan. Abbey and McCade do a great jobin their leading roles. We really enjoy the Tarzan performance. But our favorite is Singing in the Rain. Sydney is amazing in her taking on the challenging role of Lila Lamar. It is so fun to see her acting and the singing. Olivia sings like an angel in her lead role. McCade is real fun to watch in his humorous role as Cosmo, The singing and dancing in this show are amazing. What talented they have this year, We are looking forward to see Bright Star this week. Be sure to see the preshow as well.

We love to attend the Play Mill in West Yellowstone, but are very discouraged by their policies. We have 8 tickets for the last Thursday of July which cost us $240.00. Because of a postponed surgery, we can't attend that week and wanted to schedule 8 tickets for the week before. NO! They will not let us change our tickets. So if we can't sell them it would cost us $500 for eight people to see a performance of Tarzan. I guess my children and grandchildren won't be going to the Play Mill this year because we don't have that much money to spend. I'm very disappointed!!
I could not use the correct date. These tickets were for July 2022.

We saw the performance of "Singin' in the Rain" on a Thursday night. I love this musical, but my husband is not a big theater buff. He loved it! The theater is small and intimate and allows the cast to interact with the audience. The singing and dancing were superb. We would go back any time.

Family
My family was on a vacation in the Grand Tetons and then Yellowstone. My daughter and I decided to last minute get tickets to the Cinderella play. We are huge Disney fans and have been many times to Disney World. I honestly have to say that my expectations for this play were not super high. We arrived and there were several staff dressed in pretty dresses and suits seating all the guests. The gentlemen who seated us asked us if this was our first time at the Theater. He proceeded to introduce himself as “Logan” and gave us a very warm welcome and told us what would happen during the night. When the play started, I was surprised to see that all the staff that were welcoming guest and seating them were actually all the performers. They also assisted guests during intermission by waiting on them which was amazing. All staff was so respectful and kind. After the show, all performers lined up along the front wall-way to meet and greet guests and take pictures. Logan remembered my daughter and me and asked how we liked the show. The performance was truly awesome! Performers were wonderful singers and actors/actresses. Would recommend this Theater to everyone. The only disadvantage is that the Theater is small. I did notice a sign where they are in the process of building a larger structure which is much needed.

Bright Star was a beautiful play, a new favorite. My entire family loved it, and there were 17 of us that went, ranging from ages 9-66. It was our first time at Playmill Theatre and we will definitely come again, and we're from Boise. Everyone in the cast became a favorite character, I couldn't believe how many super talented people were involved. I can't say enough good about it.

My friends introduced me to the Playmill 25 years ago! They have attended theater for over 50 years (original owners). The current owners and cast take pride in presenting an excellent show. There is a mix of children friendly shows and more adult themed shows. I have seen them all at least once and more when I take visitors to see a show. They take pride in presenting shows and acting and singing are top notch.
It is a great family outing while visiting Yellowstone area. A fun place to be!

Friends
I just saw Bright Star at the Playmill Theatre.
To be in such a unique location near Yellowstone National Park, is so unassuming. This theater cast welcomed us in, seated us, served us concessions, and then performed one of the most touching theatre pieces I’ve ever seen - only to thank us on our way out, then go about cleaning the theatre after we left. I can honestly say, it was one of the best theatre experiences of my life. I’m not just saying this because I love live theatre, I’m saying this because I know good theatre when I see it, and wish I had heard about this theatre/production sooner. Don’t miss it if you’re visiting West Yellowstone, and don’t miss Bright Star if you’re visiting in 2022!

Pro Tip:

They serve dole whip at intermission - like the kind from Disneyland - so good!

They also have “Heidi’s famous fudge” is incredible!

I had never been to West Yellowstone until just a week ago. I was traveling with a group of teenaged boys and adults. We were staying in West Yellowstone for four nights. While researching what to do in the area, I stumbled on the Playmill Theatre. You wouldn't think a bunch of teen boys would be enthusiastic about seeing a "Broadway" musical, but our group loved the Playmill Theatre's production of "Newsies, the Musical."

We were all blown away with the quality of the show and the energy of the actors. It was just incredible. If I were coming on my on, I'd see all shows they produce in any given week.

High recommend you check it out.
