We booked a trip to the powder hut for a birthday celebration and had one of the best trips, we are still talking about how fun it was. We had 6 of us in the hut, and loved getting to hang out with our guide Sam, who was so knowledgable about the area and kept us safe and showed us the best terrain to ski. The snow was deeep and the area around the hut is breathtaking with views of the Centennials. We can’t wait to go back again to explore more.

Thanks to Sam, the four of us enjoyed another great experience at Hellroaring. It had snowed heavily and we skied in in "considerable" conditions and Sam found great terrain that was fun and safe. He spent the day breaking trail for us and we spent the day making laps in knee deep snow, having a blast. Sam departed and the snow started again, one inch per hour for 30+ hours, rising the level to high.
Because of the varied terrain surrounding the hut, we were able to find appropriate terrain for the conditions and made many wonderful turns in conservative areas.
The four of us enjoyed the updates to the Hut and were very comfortable and well fed. When it came time to leave, we met Sam at the trail head who ensured we all got out safely.
It is pretty special to stand just outside the hut at night in a true wilderness area and enjoy the quiet, with such comfortable accommodations just inside the hut door.

We spent 2 nights at the Hellroaring Hut with a group of 5. Sam (owner) skied in with us and got everything setup and gave a quick (but thorough) run down. The hut is very well set up with everything you need, even sleeping bags so you can save weight on the trip in. The spring nearby is a bonus because you don't have to melt as much snow. We had elevated avalanche danger but still got in some great turns after a little exploring. Lots of options for ski lines, from mellow to steep high alpine.....which is why I will be going back. Well worth it.

Spent a few nights in the yurt last spring and just starting to pack for my second trip to the Centennial Mountains. The terrain has something for everyone, good snow, quiet and a little more isolated than some other huts I have been to. The yurt is warm and comfortable, we fit six no problem and enjoyed our evenings overlooking the surrounding mountains. Had a wonderful time and look forward to going back.

What an adventure! This was truly the trip of a lifetime. Sam, the owner, is an incredible host and made sure we had everything we needed. Besides being a phenomenal skier, he knows the area like the back of his hand, has more mountain sense in his little pinky than most people have in their whole bodies (avalanche certified, etc.) and is just all-around one of the nicest guys to hang out and ski with. The yurt is warm and cozy—rustic but comfortable. But let’s be honest – it’s all about the skiing and this place delivers! The terrain, besides being stunningly beautiful, is varied and the powder is surreal. We've never had such amazing days as the ones at Hellroaring. The value for the type of skiing you get to experience at Hellroaring can’t be beat. If you love to ski the backcountry and live for fresh tracks, this is the hut for you. Highly recommended.

I have been here two years in a row. It is such a cool place. Everything from the snowmobile ride in, the scenic tour to the yurt, and of course the skiing. The view from the top of Mount Jefferson is probably the coolest view in the Northern Rockies. I think we counted 13 mtn ranges. I told my friends this is where I want my ashes dispersed. seriously.
Sam, the owner, is an amazing guy. He is very helpful with everything.
Will be going again this year!

I could not be happier with my experience with Hellroaring Powder Guides. The location was not only serene and beautiful but it also offered incredible snow and a variety of fantastic terrain. Our guide was extremely personable and had an extensive knowledge of the area. I will definitely be returning this coming season.

Four of us spent three nights at the Hellroaring Hut with Josh, our Guide. The trip in by snowmobile, and subsequent skin made the area remote and very quiet. We had the mountains to ourselves. The hut was comfortable, with all the basic needs, water, shelter. and wood stove. Five of us were very comfortable, great bunks, pads and sleeping bags. Complex mountain terrain required guide. All aspects of the compass available to find the best snow, which at the time of our trip was non existent. The first snow came on the night before we headed out.
Great business-thanks Sam, great guide in Josh, great terrain and comfortable place to shelter for the nights.
