It's a beautiful place to look for quartz crystals. Kids love to dig on dirt and had a blast when they found a lot. Remember to bring bug/insect spray because mosquitoes swarms all over! Their bites and buzzing sounds just a nuisance! Restrooms have no...More

My mom and I stopped here on our way to Bannack. We brought along a shovel and trowel. That's really all we needed to have a great time! Wonderful place for kids to dig, get dirty and find some crystals! We'll be back!

Some friends and I took our kids, all under the age of 6, for a morning hike here. The kids had a blast trekking though the hillside looking for crystals. There were also an abundance of picnic tables where anyone could have a nice picnic,...More

A family adventure awaits in the scenic Pioneer Mountains in Southwest Montana on the byway between Polaris and Wise River. A picnic area at the base and trails that lead up the mountain to the digging sights. We have been here many times and have...More

I believe it is May 15th when the park opens. This time of year there is still snow everywhere.
