We decided to take a stroll through Caras Park and along the river. The walkway is nice and affords a nice, even surface for people, bikes, etc. There's a small deck overlooking Brennan's wave where you can watch kayakers and surfers. It's fun to watch. Beyond this almost everything else was closed due to COVID 19. There were no events and the carasoul was closed too.

Caras park envelopes the lively lifestyles of all Missoulians and western Montanans who happen upon the downtown area and find themselves amidst the aromas of out to lunch, a summer feeding frenzy of multiple eaterys found in and around Missoula, usually with the accompaniment of local music talent. Did I mention the park lies next the Clark Fork River? Center of recreation and entertainment for Missoulians the park hosts a section of the river trail system used by runners, bikers, strollers, walkers etc. Notably the park has attracted outdoor concert events such as Santana, and Jewel. Recently the park has added a large jungle gym play area for kids, next to its most famous attraction 'The Carousel'. Both features were added to the riverfront area as a result of charitable community involvement. Rides on the carousel are fun and inexpensive and the jungle gym is free. I am not one to know all there is to know of Caras Parks offerings, please visit other related sites to attain a fuller picture of this, center of community jewel for all Missoulians.

It was hard to find parking but walking the grounds was super nice. Clean grounds with nice playground for the kiddies and a carousel too! We ended up at the farmers market which was fabulous.

This man-made rafting area named the Brennan Falls was super relaxing and zen feeling just with the views and the sound of the water was conveniently by the walking path along the Clark Fork River.

I have been going here for years to the Out to Lunch during the summers as well as the Downtown Tonight function on Thursday nights. I have been to a lot of functions there over the years. Really a great location and always fun to people watch, including the people surfing and kayaking on Brennan's Wave on the river right next to it.

Somewhat small for a stroll but we had fun seeing the river and riding the carousel. As other reviewers mentioned the carousel is a real gallop of a ride!

Great unusual park with huge variety. Nice covered pavillion with frequent venues of different variety. Has "Brennan's Wave" on the river which has surf boarding on the river. Also has a carousel (real one, hand-carved horses) and Dragon Hollow which is a super climbing and exploring area for kids. Parking is very convenient. Also in the downtown area , near many other venues.

Always something going on at Caras Park. Be sure to check the Missoula events webpage for festivals and events. A new parking garage in front of the Holiday Inn makes access by car extremely easy.

Caras Park is at the center of enjoying a variety of outdoor activities while visiting downtown Missoula, Montana! At the center is a carousel and a large climbing structurefor kids. Take a lovely walk along the Clark's Fork River and watch adventurous people surf or boogie board kayak the river rapids. On Wednesday's in the summer from 11:00-2:00 there are a dozen food trucks to choose lunch from while listening to live musical entertainment!
