If you have any interest in a scenic, safe, friendly and informative trail ride, you should book with Tim at Bear Paw Outfitters. We took the ride up Slough Creek to fish for a few hours with Tim and his Grand daughter and could not of asked for a better time. Bear Paw Outfitters primary concern is for your safety,... More

Took my 10 year old son and 74 year mother along with me to ride with Tim at Bear Paw. Tim was recommended to me by a local for his experience and for the way he cares for his horses. Tim gave us a safety talk at the beginning and helped to dispel the nervousness my son and mom both... More

This school is a joke. I personally know a few people who have attended the guide/packer school and they learned nothing other than how to saddle a horse and trail ride. The owner talked them up and had them buy hundreds of dollars worth of equipment that wasn't even used. How the owner and his family treated the students was... More

I have ridden horses with Tim (BearPaw) and his lovely daughter Emily for the past two years when our family vacations in Montana. We have always been treated with respect, and the safety orientation is always great and informative. They are very big on safety which is why we always have gone back there. Our horses were well mannered, and... More

I've taken trips with 4 or 5 different horseback outfitters in southwestern montana and Bear Paw (Tim Bowers) is the most professional that I've had. Well trained animals, excellent guidance/safety emphasis and fantastic experience overall. Highly recommend, enjoy!

We rode with Tim Bowers and his crew from Bear Paw Outfitters back to the third meadow of Slough Creek in mid-September 2015 and had fantastic trip. My two friends and I are all 62 and older fly fishermen and definitely novice horseback riders. I contacted Tim about the trip and he fit us into his schedule even though it... More

Five family members took a 2-hour ride with Tim. Despite being cold and drizzly, we had a great time! Most of us are nervous around horses but Tim did an excellent job selecting the right horse for each of us. He gave us safety instructions at the beginning and then corrected us with suggestions along the way, staying in front... More

I had a wonderful 2 hour ride with Bear Paw Outfitters. Our guide and her two nieces were wonderful guides. The scenery is simply spectacular and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I highly recommend this family business!

I contacted these folks via email about a fly-fishing/hirse excursion and communication was difficult from the onset. Now, I expect Western Outdoorsmen to be a bit gruff and rough around the edges, but this got to be ridiculous. We were open to recommendations on where to go, but I could never get a description of the plan at all, not... More

Dear Ma'am, we apologize for your difficulty in navigating our webpage as no other clients have shared the same concern. We will definitely try to work out the kinks.
