Great place to family ski. Very reasonable half day price 35 dollars and u get enough runs in because there r no or few lift lines. U travel up the mountain so u need a good winter driving vehicle

A family friendly alternative to the "Big Mountain" to the North. Slopes to please any level of skier, super staff, rental shop, instructors. Less crowded and much more reasonable cost than the big name guys. Good food too!

Blacktail Mountain is one of the best ski areas in Montana. While it is a bit smaller than most, the north facing slopes nearly always result in better snow conditions. The staff is friendly and courteous. All of my boys learned to ski on Blacktail...More

Skied here with my wife two days ago for the first time on a perfect bluebird day. If this mountain was more accessible, it would probably be over-developed by now. Whoever designed the trails knew what they were doing - fantastic runs - no skating...More

If you look at the website it will be hard for you to realize how awesome this place is. The runs are well laid out with more vertical to ski than you might expect and more opportunity than you'd imagine for powder skiing on snowy...More

Blacktail offers very easy and intermediate slopes for beginners, youngsters, old timers, and people with physical difficulties. It's my favorite place in Montana, maybe anywhere, for teaching people with disabilities and fearful beginners. The lodge is family friendly and a cozy hangout for apres ski.

This is a very cool ski area. You actually drive to the top and ski down before riding a lift. Grooming is excellent and lifts are speedy. Snow can be iffy but is surprisingly good considering you are always looking down on the largest freshwater...More
