Fly fishing was on our "must do" list when our family traveled to Montana last week. Even though our granddaughter was only 8 years old, she thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Mr. Hadley and his guide for the 2nd boat were professional, prompt and worked hard to be sure that everyone had a great time even though the fish were not biting that day! Linda Fleming

Our family of five spent a morning on the Flathead River with Russ and Jamen (unsure of spelling). Both guides were tremendously patient instructing first-timers how to fly fish. Time went quick as they expertly guided us to the best spots to fish, patiently answered all questions, and regaled us with wonderful stories. A fun time was had by all. You really can't go wrong with Russ and his guides. I highly recommend you choose this guide group.
One cautionary note...not about this guide company but about Montana fishing licensing. If you are an out of state resident the two day license (shortest you can buy) is $50. You will need to be ready to provide address, phone number, height, weight, hair color, eye color, profession, and last four digits of social security number for everyone over the age of eleven. We had to scramble a bit to get the ssn info on our kids. This would have been good to know before our trip. The $250 bill for licenses for our family would have chartered another boat for our group. We have fished in 11 states. This is the most expensive license we have encountered.

If you want a knowledgeable fishing guide and someone you will be happy to spend an entire day with (or in our case multiple days), then Russ is the guide for you! We have been fishing with Russ for 7+ years and usually average about 5 trips a year with him. No matter whether the fishing is good (it usually is), we always have a great time with Russ. He always has clean, well maintained boats and equipment, and we always feel safe with Russ on the river or on the lakes. On top of that, Russ is just an exceptionally nice man who goes out of his way to ensure that you have a good outing.

For almost two decades we've continued to rely on Russ to provide a memorable fly-fishing event in Northwest Montana. He never disapponts. Every day on the river is a great day. Highly recommend!

I spent last Saturday morning on the River with Russ and had an excellent time. Russ has extensive knowledge of the Flathead and his 40+ years of experience with fly fishing are the ingredients for a fun guided trip.
A quality person, great teacher and with excellent gear. I would certainly recommend Russ or one of his team. They will be my only choice next year and years to come!

I've fished with a lot of guides and we had a Monday planned and after about an two hours on the water the weather got bad. Instead of just taking our money, Russ wanted to make sure we had a great time. He brought me out the next day. A lot of guides would take your money and run. Not Russ he wanted to make sure my trip was the trip of a lifetime. I caught a lot of fish and he showed even a seasoned fly fisherman some tips that helped my casting. He also makes a mean smoked salmon. When I come back to MT I look forward to fishing a day with Russ.
