We stopped in and grabbed some chocolates to go but I wish we had eaten there as well. I wish I would have tried the ice cream! There was chili cooking when we got there that smelled good. There are a lot of chocolates to choose from and they were all good. I'd go back.

For many decades, The Parrot has catered to the sweettooth of Helena folk and visitors. When you walk in, you step back in time. The staff is welcoming, and the bric a brac on the walls are very interesting. Stock up on a variety of handmade candies (my favorite: bear claws) or sit down and sample one of the old... More

We ordered a variety of fountain drinks and some of the famous chili. The kids had a lot of fun putting quarters in the juke box and loved the basket of saltine crackers they brought to the table. It was fun to experience an old fashion soda fountain atmosphere. I would definitely go back and recommend it if you are... More

The Parrot has been a Helena tradition for over 80 years and has the best candy and chocolates ever. Please don't try to tell me about See's candy or any other such nonsense, that stuff tastes like brown wax compared to Parrot candy. They also have an authentic, old fashioned soda fountain so you can also have a chocolate coke... More

Growing up in Helena, the Parrot was a special treat as a kid. It was really fun when visiting in the fall, to take a friend there--and thoroughly enjoy the staff and candy. So friendly and helpful and the candy always delicious! It is one of the few old places left in Helena!

We stopped by here on our visit to Helena and were planning to get a soda to take out. An extremely nice young man encouraged us to stay and sit, and we were glad we did. This soda fountain has ice cream sodas, phosphates, sundaes and milkshakes. Our family of four had an assortment, all of which were delicious. We... More

As we drooled over all the options, we were delighted with the service and the assortment we got in the 1-pound box!

We went here because of the great reviews. This candy is TERRIBLE. We asked for a one lb box of mixed chocolates and it was dried out and just terrible probably because they gave us a box that was sitting on the counter. It was $16 and horrible. My sister said Russell Stover's was better and she's right. If this... More

The Parrot is a great place to have a light lunch or dinner in Helena. My twelve year old says the atmosphere is really great and the building is the way it was built a long time ago. Besides being a great place to eat, it also has the best chocolate you will find in a hundred mile radius. My... More

They only serve hot dogs, ice creams and sodas, but do so in the same was as they have for the last 80 years, so it is all about the experience and history rather than the menu and food quality. That said, the ice creams and sauces all made on site were excellent and the staff were very friendly.
