I read about the Cathedral in one of those 1,001 places to see before you die. Well, I got lucky twice. I could see it from my hotel. I walked up and took it all in the next day. An organist was practicing and the pipes were bellowing as birds flew around the church. For the first 10 minutes I... More

The Cathedral of Saint Helena is a huge Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral which used one from Austria as its model. It is certainly reminiscent of many in Europe (albeit a bit younger). It’s a little over 100 years old and has been renovated several times. The stained glass is beautiful. When we walked in they were playing some peaceful choral... More

Went to mass at 5PM today. Words will not do it justice, this is one of the most beautiful cathedrals we have seen in North America. Unbelievable stained glass windows, with each one containing a bible verse.

This beautiful cathedral is reminiscent of the ones visited in Germany. The actual building construction alone is fascinating. Add the beautiful stained glass windows and the furnishings inside and you have something that has to be experienced to really appreciate. It would have been interesting to have attended during a service and heard the pipe organ. Entry is only by... More

This is what I would expect of a European Cathedral. Large, impressive, beautiful. I enjoy architecture and especially churches. When we visited, this was listed as the most popular attraction in Helena. For good reason. When we visited, we saw no indication of people, other than one other tourist. The sanctuary was lovely, with quiet music piped in. If you're... More

This Cathedral is amazing. The stained glass windows are breath taking. We celebrated mass here on Sunday. The priest was very well spoken and friendly. A must stop if you are in Helena

Beautiful! This is an amazing architectural wonder. The stain glass was perfectly done so on a clear day, the windows were spectacular. There was a wedding about to take place in about 40 minutes but this place was so big we did not even bother the wedding party.

I had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. It is an amazing structure and no visit to Helena should miss this.

This is a nice to see Cathedral. If you are staying at Helena, than go check it out, it is worthwhile. Also good to know, almost next to each church there is a playground and there are several churches at Helena :)
