This was a nice way to get a quick view of Helena and learn the history of the town. It would be best to do this on your first day in town, earlier in the day so you could learn about places worth visiting later. The biggest drawback was the limited visibility from the train cars. Unless you got a... More

Our driver/guide Boots' colorful and informative dialogue helped make this a great way to learn about Helena's historical figures and their exploits. The tour wound through several charming neighborhood we would not have otherwise seen. Riding in open air covered "rail wagons" gave us unencumbered views of all the sites we passed. Since we toured on a somewhat chilly day,... More

Thought this might be a little expensive, and maybe even a little hokey, but enjoyed every minute of it. The driver was very entertaining in his descriptions of Helena landmarks and areas of town. It was a great way to learn some quick history. Took about an hour. My kids enjoyed it as well.

Riding the tour train might seem hokey for teenagers but once they get on it and see some of the sights they will enjoy themselves. It's a great way to see Helena's history while relaxing and letting someone else drive. Certainly worth doing!!

The Last Chance tour is a great way to see the city and our guide was very knowledgeable. She pointed out several places that we later visited.

It is a great way to get a bit of history about the capital city and Montana. The guides' stories and historical facts are entertaining. The train leisurely winds through the city pointing out notable landmarks and their backgrounds. The train boards and unloads at a museum which can be another adventure.

Fun way to spend a couple of hours in Helena MT. Inexpensive. The tour guide gives verbal narrative the whole ride through. Fun light history of this original Mining camp that is now the Capitol. Arrive 30 minutes early and the tour lasts 1 hour.
