Hauser Lake is not far from Helena, MT and provides beautiful scenery, RV campground (dry camping), swimming area, and walking trails. Devil's Elbow provides the biggest spots, the facilities are clean. The fishing isn't spectacular, but may be better at other times of year. First come, first serve, so get there early for a lakeview spot.

We visited on July 2 and July 4th. Fishing access and place(s) for your dog to swim. A State Park and a BLM Park are available for picnic or travelers with campers.

We take innertubes or jetskis or just lawn chairs to the lake for a relaxing and cool time in the summer. We aren't much into ice fishing but lots of people do that here too. We love Hauser because it is so close and well kept.

I've never seen a lake frozen. Got some beautiful pictures of the sun reflecting off of the ice. Could even hear the ice cracking

The first time in my life, I was able to watch people do some ice fishing! We stayed next to aha user Lake and really enjoyed watching the people who came daily to fish, pulling their sleds, setting up their shelters. Interesting! Was frozen when we arrived, had begun to thaw ( a lot) before we left! Spring is coming... More

Riverside campground is a BLM site at the base of Canyon Ferry Dam and is the first feature on Lake Hauser. You get there by going over the Canyon Ferry Dam and turning left at the small Canyon ferry Village. It has a great ADA compliant dock area and both reservable and walk-up only sites. We went in the middle... More

Stayed at Devil's Elbow campground March 2015 and enjoyed the serenity of the campground and the Missouri River. Campground does not officially open until May, but was available for campers at no expense (until May 1). The campsites are nicely spaced from each other and great access to the Missouri River. Great paved trail for walks and easy access to... More

Hauser is my favorite lake. There's a bar/restaurant that has good food. the view toward the lake is great. Great place to boat and enjoy the water.

Hauser Lake is one of three local lakes. You can sit on one of the several small 'beaches', motor boat, ski, or try your hand at jet skiing. There are several places to launch your boat, and camp grounds to put your trailer. The best time to enjoy the water is the evenings, when the daytime boaters have left.

Hauser Lake is just minutes from Helena, MT and provides beautiful scenery, a great campground, and quaint walking trails. Although Hauser offers several campgrounds, Devil's Elbow provides the biggest spots, the facilities (benches, outhouses, picnic tables, trails) are super clean and the trails are short, but scenic. I did not give an excellent rating since I am scoring the lake... More
