Great place to kayak and canoe and imagine what Lewis and Clark saw. Dont go on the weekends in the summer. It's nuts!

It is a soothing and sometimes exciting float! There are shuttles in the small towns that dot the Wolf Creek corridor all the way to Cascade. Fishing is the real treat, but kayaking it can be fun as well.

Anyone who appreciates the history of this country and the explorations of Lewis and Clark needs to explore the Missouri River here is Montana. From Three Forks headwaters, though the Gates of the Mountains and the Great Falls, the river is beautiful, sparkling and inspiring.

I cannot believe how beautiful this river is while we visited Helena National Park. It is tremendously gorgeous. Fish weren't biting but I enjoyed the river.

The Missouri River seemed to be everywhere we went in Montana. I could picture the Native Americans along the shore fishing or perhaps a bear searching for a snack.

Viewed the place where the Missouri River starts by the 3 rivers flowing together. The river and banks are sand and gravel and the water is crystal clear, not like most rivers at home.

The whole stretch from below Canyon Ferry dam to Pelican rapids is worth checking. Rent a raft, drive the frontage road or get a floaty and jump in!

We were there in the dead of summer and caught some great trout, Rainbows and Brownies. The largest checked in at 7lbs, 8 ozs. Not bad for fishing in July. Beautiful area.
